We got this test unit, a Nokia C7, a couple weeks back and it's got us thinking where Nokia is positioning this device (probably in the mid to high-end range) considering the Nokia N8 and Nokia E7 are clearly on top of the heap. Announced in September last year, the Nokia C7 is relatively thin at just 10.5mm and has this great capacitive AMOLED display. The Nokia C7 is still selling for around Php15,500 in stores. Nokia today announced its latest luxury handset, the Nokia Oro -- a replica of the Nokia C7 running Symbian Anna and plated with 18-carat gold, sapphire crystal and leather. The Nokia Oro will carry all the specs of the C7 but with the added bells and whistles on the finishing. It's been a Nokia tradition to build a limited-edition, high-class handset for years and it's the Oro's turn this year. I remember some premium Nokia handsets used to sell around those range -- Nokia 8800 Sapphire at Php56,500 and the Nokia 8800 Arte for Php47,500. Just moments ago, at the Nokia World 2010, a new Symbian^3-based smartphone was announced -- the Nokia C7 and based on the specs, it's looking to be a baby N8.
