The OPPO F7 launched in April 2018 with a suggested retail price (SRP) of ₱17,990 for the 4GB/64GB variant. On July 26, 2018, OPPO Philippines implemented a significant price drop, reducing the SRP to ₱14,990—a discount of ₱3,000. Later, during the Shopee 3.3 Mega Sale in February 2019, the 64GB model was further discounted to ₱11,990, and the 128GB variant was offered at ₱13,990.

The OPPO F7 featured a 6.23-inch FHD+ (2280 x 1080) LTPS IPS display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It was powered by a MediaTek Helio P60 octa-core processor with a Mali-G72 MP3 GPU, paired with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of expandable storage. Its main camera was a 16MP f/1.8 shooter, while its headline feature was the 25MP f/2.0 AI front camera with AR stickers and AI Beauty Technology 2.0. It ran ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and was powered by a 3,400mAh battery.

In our comparison, the OPPO F7 had advantages in processing power with the newer MediaTek Helio P60 chipset versus the Vivo V9's Snapdragon 626, a higher-resolution 25MP front camera (vs. 24MP), a higher 3,400mAh battery capacity, and the availability of a 6GB/128GB variant. The Vivo V9, however, offered a slightly larger 6.3-inch display and a dual-camera system (16MP+5MP) on the rear for bokeh effects, while the F7 used a single 16MP rear camera with AI scene recognition.
