Moving forward, I was keen on getting myself that well-equipped and appropriately priced Nokia E61i but during my tour to the phone stores, I discovered the Samsung SGH i600 smartphone. It's commonly known as Blackjack in some regions and was released last December 2006. The much awaited Omnia i900 from Samsung (see specs here) was released in the Philippines yesterday. While everybody is getting frustrated with the supposed Globe iPhone 3G pricing, the Samsung Omnia will definitely be a formidable alternative to the former. The rumored new Samsung i8510 that tows in an 8-megapixel camera and a 16GB internal storage becomes official. This new Samsung i8510 phone will be named Innovate or Innov8. I reckon that the Samsung i8510 is positioned against the Nokia N95 while the Omnia is targetted as an iPhone alternative. LCD monitors from Samsung are getting better and better.
