Samsung's Gear 360, originally started out as "Project Beyond", is aimed at the general consumer market to jumpstart content creation for the VR world. In a way, the Gear 360 is paving the way for Samsung's smartphones and the Gear VR to be a standard fare for consumers. The Gear 360 reminds us of the X-Mini speakers or one of those small Sony SRS-BTV5 NFC speakers with a built-in foldable tripod at the bottom so you can let it stand freely or hold it firmly when taking shots. You will also need the Smaung Gear VR to enjoy the final VR output of the Gear 360. Facebook founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, also showed up during the launch to announce that the social emdia site is bringing dynamic 360 video streaming via Gear VR. This could mean that, in the future, content created by the Gear 360 can be uploaded to Facebook and be viewed by everyone using the Gear VR.
