Samsung's Health Monitor app has been cleared by South Korea's Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) as a Software as a Medical Device (SaMD). What this means, is that the Samsung Health Monitor paired with the sensors on the Galaxy Watch Active2 is now considered as an official over-the-counter and cuffless blood pressure monitoring tool. The Samsung Health Monitor app will be available on the Galaxy Watch Active2 in the third quarter and will support upcoming Galaxy Watch devices. ASUS has announced the VivoWatch 6 Plus at Computex 2026, introducing new health monitoring features focused on blood pressure, ECG tracking, and wellness monitoring. The smartwatch retains ASUS’ existing blood pressure and ECG monitoring capabilities while adding new features such as sleep breathing movement tracking and gait analysis.
