Samsung has unveiled a 50MP image sensor for smartphones that improves image quality in low-light. Dubbed as ISOCELL GN1, the image sensor is the first from the brand to combine Dual Pixel and Tetracell technologies. Through these features, the ISOCELL GN1 image sensor can capture sharper images even in environments with poor lighting. In addition, Samsung also brings in the following video recording features to the ISOCELL GN1: Smart-ISO, real-time HDR for processing multiple exposures simultaneously on a scene, gyro-based electronic image stabilization (EIS), and support to 8K video recording at 30fps. Samsung shares that it will start the production of the said image sensor this May 2020. The rumored new Samsung i8510 that tows in an 8-megapixel camera and a 16GB internal storage becomes official.
