Last night, Samsung Philippines launched their 2nd-generation ultrabooks with the latest Intel Ivy Bridge processors. They also showcased a 15-inch Series 9 ultrabook and a 13-inch super-affordable Series 5 ultrabook (under Php30k). Incidentally, we've actually seen these ultrabooks a couple of weeks ago in the floors of the Computex. The 15-inch Series 9 ultrabook packs an Intel Ivy Bridge Core i7 processor, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. The 15-inch Samsung Series 9 will retail for about Php76,900 when it hits the stores. The much awaited Omnia i900 from Samsung (see specs here) was released in the Philippines yesterday. While everybody is getting frustrated with the supposed Globe iPhone 3G pricing, the Samsung Omnia will definitely be a formidable alternative to the former. The rumored new Samsung i8510 that tows in an 8-megapixel camera and a 16GB internal storage becomes official.
