SKY Cable has just announced that existing subscribers of SKY Fiber will be receiving permanent speed upgrades for free. In the announcement, SKY noted that Fiber subscribers who have 8, 16, 32, 64 Mbps bundled with a free HD cable TV will automatically receive a speed upgrade to 15, 30,60, and 120 Mbps. For subscribers who are on the SKY Fiber Plan 50 Mbps (PHP 2,499/monthly) will get boosted to 75 Mbps, while SKY Fiber Plan 100 Mbps subscribers (PHP 3,499/monthly) will get a 150 Mbps upgrade. SKY Fiber first released its Super Speed plans in early Septembers, with its offers beginning at 5Mbps for PHP 999 per month. SKY Fiber is available in Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Baguio, Cebu, Bacolod, Iloilo, Dumaguete, Davao, General Santos and Zamboanga City. Weirdly enough, SKY’s TruFiber plans’ speed boosts aren’t anything special because they’re not actually faster than the competition.
