Now that was quick -- barely 5 days into the plan downgrade of Smart Bro (just the canopy-type) from 2Mbps to just 1 Mbps (effective June 1, 2011), they reversed it back to 2Mbps again. A new poster ad from Smart Bro promotes their broadband speed to be up to 2Mbps. I fired up several internet bandwidth meters, hooked up my Smart Bro Prepaid account and positioned my laptop to get an HSDPA signal. This could be a response to the SmartBro 3G Price Cuts on the prepaid kits (Php3,800). Disclosure: Both Globe Visibility and SmartBro 3G is an advertiser on this blog. Ok, moving on with some points to ponder for Smart 3G: 3G does not always mean broadband speeds. Launched just yesterday, Smart WiFi is a new broadband internet service which allows users to get connected wirelessly thru Smart's cell sites.
