Announced in November 2023, the MediaTek Dimensity 8300 is a midrange chipset built on a second-generation TSMC 4nm process. It features an octa-core CPU with 4x Cortex-A715 cores (up to 3.35GHz) and 4x Cortex-A510 cores. Key upgrades include an Arm Mali-G615 MC6 GPU, an APU 780 AI processor for on-device generative AI supporting large language models, support for LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage, a 320MP camera ISP, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.4, and a 5G modem with sub-6GHz speeds up to 5.17Gbps. The first device to use it is the Redmi K70E.

In November 2021, Qualcomm announced that Snapdragon would become a standalone product brand, separating from the Qualcomm master brand where appropriate. The company introduced new brand colors (Midnight, Gunmetal, Nickel, Snapdragon Red, Gold) and a simplified naming structure using a single-digit series and generation number. They also removed explicit 5G branding from products, stating that 5G would be built into any Snapdragon product.

Samsung Electronics and Marvell jointly developed a new System-on-a-Chip (SoC) for 5G networks, announced in March 2021. This SoC is designed to enhance 5G radio performance by increasing capacity and coverage while reducing power consumption and size. It supports 5G and 4G networks simultaneously and is reported to save up to 70% in chipset power consumption compared to previous solutions. It was targeted for use in Samsung's MIMO radios for Tier One operators in Q2 2021.
