Ookla Speedtest has released their Ookla Speedtest Awards, citing PLDT as the fastest fixed network and Smart as the fastest mobile network in the Philippines. SKY is second with a Speed Score of 10.89, followed by Smart Bro with 9.79, and Globe with 6.58. According to Ookla Speedtest, the Speed Score incorporates a measure of each provider's download and upload speed to rank network speed performance. Yes, you read it right -- Sky Broadband is offering up to 112Mbps residential cable internet. So here's the YouTube clip I took while testing it on SpeedTest: From our tests, it was able to register 86Mbps downstream and 4.3Mbps upstream. Sky Broadband reps tell me the theoretical speed is 112Mbps down and 5Mbps up. Sky Broadband seems to be tipping the scale for broadband speeds with offerings of up to 6Mbps and 12 Mbps packages for residential accounts. Any Sky Cable or Sky Broadband user out there who can share some feedback on service reliability (i.e how many downtimes a year, resolution time, etc.)?
