News of SpaceX's Starlink arrival in the Philippines has got a lot excited, which is understandable as Filipinos are always on the lookout for new internet service providers. Pricey Starlink requires a USD 99 deposit or around PHP 5K, the kit is at USD 599 or around PHP 31K, while the monthly service fee is USD 110 or almost PHP 6K. Starlink has sent out emails to interested users in the Philippines allowing them to reserve and put down a deposit for future services. This has put Starlink as an official internet service provider in the Philippines, albeit it will be delivered in 2022. As it turns out, Starlink can directly offer their service in the Philippines without a local partnership and this email detailing a reservation is merely the first step. The official name of Starlink in the Philippines is Starlink Internet Services Philippines Inc, which is fully owned by Elon Musk's subsidiary company, Space Exploration Technology Corp., famously known as SpaceX. It was early announced by the Department of Trade and Industry that the Philippines will be the first in Southeast Asia to experience the known Starlink Technology.
