HUAWEI continues to lead China’s foldable smartphone market, taking a 72.6% share in Q2 2025, according to the International Data Corporation (IDC). The surge is largely attributed to the popularity of the HUAWEI Pura X and its other foldable models. HONOR came in second with a 7.6% share, followed by vivo (5.5%), Xiaomi (5%), and OPPO (4.6%). Despite HUAWEI’s strong performance, overall foldable phone shipments in China dropped by 14% year-on-year, with just 2.21 million units sold. Aside from the new Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro 12.5, the brand also announced the new Xiaomi MIX Flip 2. This flagship foldable now sports a larger 4.01-inch AMOLED cover display, while the main folding display is a 6.86-inch LTPO AMOLED panel. The Xiaomi Mix Flip, the company’s first clamshell-type foldable, is set to go global. This confirmation comes from Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, who announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the global launch will happen “this September,” suggesting an official announcement will take place soon.
