YouTube has just announced that certain healthcare professionals and health information providers can now apply to have their channels certified and eligible for YouTube's health product features. For now, YouTube is focusing on helping doctors, nurses, mental health professionals, and health information providers bring high-quality health information on YouTube. For healthcare professionals who would like their channel to be certified, applicants must submit their proof of license and have a YouTube channel in good standing. To apply to be a source in YouTube health features, click here. However, YouTube now also uses its own detection system to help identify AI-generated content, even if creators do not manually tag them. However, labels will remain for content created using YouTube’s own AI tools such as Veo and Dream Screen, or if the content includes C2PA metadata. According to YouTube, the new labels will not affect how videos are recommended to viewers or how creators earn money from their content. YouTube also plans to expand its creator economy with tools for fan funding, brand partnerships, shopping and AI-powered content creation.
