In a media launch this evening, Globe Telecom formally introduced their latest product under the Globe Tattoo line-up — the Tattoo Tonino Lamborghini and the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S2.
The Samsung Galaxy S2 will be available on post-paid plans and the handset comes free with any new Globe My SuperSurf Plan 3799 starting June 27, 2011.
The press release did not indicate the prepaid kit price but we already knew that it’s Php29,990 according to Samsung PR before.
And with the new HSPA+ network, all postpaid and prepaid Globe SIMs will be able to experience the “up to” 10Mbps mobile internet as long as their device supports HSPA+ and they are within the area of coverage.
I suppose Samsung Philippines will also do a separate announcement an launch of the Galaxy S2 just before the June 27 release with Globe.

Timing is essential…some would be buyers of GS2 bought Optimus 2X. Samsung should have at least made an anouncement of the release date when LG launched Optimus 2X. I wouln’t buy another 2core running on android, the battery life is frustrating.

im betting my money that the price points for the lower plans will be close to that of the prices of globe’s iphone 4 plans. since both phones are free with the 3799 plan, i’ve got this feeling their prices won’t differ too much…

This is likely for a 48 month contract (most of Globe’s postpaid contracts need at least 2 years minimum).
You’re paying for a phone AND a postpaid service which is why it’ll definitely be higher compared to the price of just the phone >_>
Probably a 24 month contract. Most are. remember that you will have 3799 worth of load to consume each month, it’s not not paying for the phone…
All telcos are giving the phone(s) included in their postpaid subscription plans for free (literally). The cost of whatever postpaid plan you choose is for you to consume monthly. So basically, you only pay for whatever service(s) that is included in your postpaid plan. For example, I would still choose the Plan 3799 a month because of the services (ex. free minutes, free text, unlimited internet browsing) included to that subscription package regardless of the phone’s model or brand.
Hi jayarlou. if your planning to get this phone @ globe under plan 3799, you will be paying 3799/month for the next 24 months (globe has 2 years lock in period for availing of free devices). Plan 3799 if a consumable plan and you will have 9 freebie options from globe (based on my superplan). In addition, you don’t have to pay for the device, just the monthly recurring fee (MSF) of 3799. So you will be paying a total of 91176 for 2 years for the device plus the load.
Globe has yet to announce the availability of this device for lower plans (299 is the lowest plan).
i stand corrected, you don’t need to pay for the device because its free, just the load of 3799.
