Its not worth it for the middle to lower class people.

Blah.. Anung apps naman available jan.. Ganda nga specs BORING NAMAN NG APPS.. iphone4 ftw! Di nmn madistinguish kung samsung hawak mo “payabang wise”.. Same old plastiky handset, unknown.

Tama. I’m using Samsung Galasy S 2”. Kasi nga its plasticky. Wala kasing mga identity ganyang mga Phone. Unlike iPhone, malayo palang, alam mo na iPhone.

One more thing… nag stop yata production nyan kasi under Restraining order ng Apple. Ginaya kasi ang iPhone looks and feel.

Got mine from HK this June 17, 2011..

It cost about 5000 HKD, about 28.1k php(5.6 hkd to php)

Been through hell getting this because they have VERY LIMITED SUPPLY! They say the have a stock in their warehouse but they will get it as soon as you pay them. A bit dangerous right? But lucky I found a shop in Mongkok Computer Center in Mongkok that has a stock already in their store. Again, they won’t let you open it (Samsung Galaxy S2 sealed box) until you pay them.

If you want to buy this here in ph, get it fast!! It has VERY, i repeat, VERY LIMITED SUPPLY! =)

    God Bless all!

is this available for current subscribers who want to re-new their 2 year contract with globe?

don’t see it in their website though..

    • Avatar for yogz yogz says:

talked to a csr via webchat

from what i understood, you cant preorder unless youre getting a NEW line. tapos bakbakan nalang sa 27 for a unit.
I got a bit confused with one of the responses. It goes, it doesnt necessarily mean that when you renew you can get the s2, then later she goes, that my lockup is free and i can avail the phone. So, uh, yeah… So can I get it or cant I? lol.

    • Avatar for chris chris says:

      Thanks for the reply!

YES! exactly, globe CSRs have been very non-helpful in helping retain their current subscribers. i’ve been very disappointed with globe, and their customer retention plan aka loyalty rewards. i though they would be more aggressive with their reward offers since smart gobbled up sun cellular. am actually thinking of convincing my dad to move all our lines to smart.. since all of us are out of our 2-year lock in with globe, and we’ve been with globe for around 8 years now..

    • Avatar for yogz yogz says:

yeah i find it dumb that the priority for the “reward” is more towards those who MAY avail of a new line rather than those who have already been giving them money and are interested in locking themselves in giving them more money! ridiculous!

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

Yeah. Sa US, ikaw pa oofferan ng mga high end phones before your contract ends para lang mag-stay ka sa network nila. Pwede ka rin pumili ng latest sa line-up ng phones nila as long as swak sa plan mo or mag-upgrade ka. It’s totally a different scenario here. My guess is that most of the subscribers whose contract has expired didn’t want to be inconvenienced by changing numbers pag lumipat sila ng network kaya tanggap na lang sila ng tanggap ng mga loyalty offers kahit di gaanong maganda yung offer before. Kaya medyo malakas ang loob ng network. They reserve the “hot phones” for new plans. Limitado din siguro ang supply nila for the new phones kaya they’d prioritize new lines. Pero siguro kung marami ang mag-terminate ng account after contract and transfer to another network dahil di maganda ang offer baka mag-iba ihip ng hangin. I don’t see the point also why they won’t offer these new phones for an upgrade or a new contract for their old subscribers kung maganda naman ang record ng subscriber. Atleast tested and proven na na nakakabayad yung lumang subscriber. Ako naman, I’m willing to let go of my number kung wala akong mahanap na workaround to retain my current mobile spending.

nag-apply na ako kanina, plan my super surf 999, 21,534 ang cash-out.

    • Avatar for ron ron says:

Magkano kaya yung cashout sa 1799 my supersurf plan nila? Tnx

    • Avatar for aa1372 aa1372 says:

      15,677 cash-out +1799 :)

    • Avatar for ron ron says:

    • Avatar for aa1372 aa1372 says:

    • Avatar for ron ron says:

plan ko din kasi kumuha ng plan 999, hehe naeexcite ako kumuha sana naman tumawag na sila hehe sana mali yung nakausap ko sa csr na for plan 2499 lang yung preorder kasi parang hindi practical kung hindi naman ako heavy user ng call and text, more on internet kasi ako,..

    • Avatar for aa1372 aa1372 says:

    • Avatar for MV MV says:

Nakakalito nga yung mga csr ng globe. I asked about “plan 2799” and it’s not in their system. The cash-out for plan 2499 daw is P6,839 which contradicts the other comment saying it’s free for 2499.

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

Ganyan din inoffer ng tumawag sa akin sa umpisa pero then kinonfirm ko via chat (sa website ng globe) kung ano ba talaga yang nakalagay sa preorder now and get it at 2799 for a limited time only, nagreply nga sila na 2,499 daw dapat yun na promo for preordering online only. So I told the sales agent what the chat support told me and I asserted na nag-preorder ako online therefore I should be entitled to the promo tapos vinerify nya, after a few minutes, tama nga daw na free for 2499. Kaya yun. I think medyo magulo pa ang information being handed to the sales team. What they have are regular pricelists pagkatapos ng preorder promo for the phone. Truth of the matter is, I won’t bite pag 3799 yung plan kasi I know my consumption (it averages 3,300 per month). And 2,499 would be just right for me as my second plan, as I’m planning to downgrade my old plan for superduo calls only on a dumb phone para di madrain battery ng sgs2 ko pag maraming tawag (at the same time na-retain ko pa old numbers ko) so lalabas around 3,300 pa rin all in all per month.

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

In-update na po ng Globe webpage nila. If you clicked the “preorder now” button from the home page, it will take you to the feature page of SGS2 (just before the preorder form page) where it now states it’s free @2499 at a limited time, as compared to the previous 2,799 plan which was erroneously displayed before.

Meron nga ba kaya itong model na to?

Its available @ plan 299 for a cash out price of 29770

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

hmmm… so it may surpass the 30k mark for prepaid after all? How about for my supersurf plan 1799 and 2499 kaya?

    • Avatar for Mitch Mitch says:

actually if you pre-oreder now until the 24th is free under plan 2799, pro when i asked the customer service, its free @ plan 2499.

its actually more expensive than iphone4 for the cash out price at plan 299…huhuhu

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

It would probably be more expensive because of the specs alone tsaka 1 year old na ang iPhone 4. Tapos kung free sya at plan 2499 bakit pa nagka-plan 2799? hehehe

  12. Avatar for Mememe Mememe says:

  13. Avatar for power power says:

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

Believe it or not, may mga taong nagbabayad ng bill nila ng 2,500 at mahigit pa. Mas marami sigurong heavy postpaid users (thus higher plans) ang globe kesa sa iba kaya they can afford to give these units for free at higher plans.

    • Avatar for power power says:

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

E nagkataong eto pang top of the line phone ang inooffer ng globe. They have the iPhone and Galaxy S2 sa line-up nila.

  14. Avatar for Prangka Prangka says:

Tama! Exclusively sa Globe on the 1st month pero on the 2nd month mabibili mo na yan sa Samsung Store, Viramall at CMKCellPhones at a cheaper price. Besides why buy it at a postpaid plan when you can buy it at a cheaper price on prepaid.

  15. Avatar for wiiw wiiw says:

  16. Avatar for not-a-sucker not-a-sucker says:

    Hello

Anyone know if non-Globe units will have NFC too? (BTW, please don’t reply with “and you need NFC for what?? we don’t use NFC here…” im a developer and NEED NFC)

  17. Avatar for sonomer sonomer says:

  18. Avatar for xx xx says:

And from the feature page of globe:
Equipped with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, your phone can now also make contactless payments by connecting to compatible payment terminals.
So it’s the NFC variety! Wow. Though we may not find any use of it now but atleast it’s there when the time comes.

    • Avatar for aa1372 aa1372 says:

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

GT-i9100 din ang version na lumabas sa UK nung end of April or May right? Yun ang may Exynos 4210 and Super AMOLED Plus. It was said that initially the first UK release shipped without the NFC capability but they’d re-release the same device with the NFC capability in a later time. So baka meron na. I’m still hopeful unless yung source mo mismo nagsabi na walang NFC and Samsung confirms it.

    • Avatar for aa1372 aa1372 says:

      GT-i9101 ang may NFC technology.

      GT-i9100 ang dito sa Pinas.

    • Avatar for aa1372 aa1372 says:

Globe ang source ko ng info.

sabi nila GT-i9100 ang S2 nila… i9100 ay walang NFC capability..

      GT-i9101 ang version ng S2 na meron…

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

I was hoping na meron since it coincides with the rumors na ngayong June lalabas ang NFC capable version in different countries (esp. UK), if wala then it’s ok pa rin naman. Hope they didn’t cripple the hotspot feature din.

    • Avatar for aa1372 aa1372 says:

  19. Avatar for Neil Neil says:

Haha. Globe! 4G ba talaga yan? Eh sa UK 3.5G lang yan eh. Sus!

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

Eh di sa UK ka tumira!

    • Avatar for yy yy says:

pre, parang mali ang banat at pamimilosopo mo ah! hahahe

sinasabi nga nya sa 3.5G LANG sa uk e. bkt dun mo sya patitirahin! hahaha

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

My banat is completely valid you know, vitwater! Hahaha!

First and foremost, meron bang telecom dito sa Pilipinas na nag-ooffer ng 6mbps na speed na kasama sa mobile plan nila? Wala! Not all telecoms on different countries are created equal. It all boils down to what you want to think 4G is. Merong set-up for LTE pero di rin naman totoong 4G ang LTE lang.

    • Avatar for croke croke says:

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

Actually, SGS2 is HSPA+ capable. Which means if your definition of 4G is like the ones in the US (AT&T and T-Mobile proclaims HSPA+ to be 4G), then it is 4G capable. Globe, I reckon, is just riding along with the US marketing of 4G. Which is ok I guess as long as the bandwidth keeps improving. Soon they’ll be offering LTE as well. And then hopefully LTE Advanced when the technology is ripe.

ilang years pag nag plan ka sa globe mga sers like 2799 plan if you pre-order now?

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

Usually two year contract yung bagong plan.

    • Avatar for benj benj says:

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

AFAIK, all current postpaid plans availing of a free phone will have a two year contract. If SIM only (without the phone), there’s no lock-in period.

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

even if you have paid cash-out for the device at plan 299, the price that you actually paid has been subsidized (DAW) by globe. Pero if you can actually afford to pay the price at that range, might as well go to other markets (greenhills, ebay, sulit, tcp) dahil halos ganun din presyo (or sometimes even lesser).

    • Avatar for xx xx says:

Feedback lang for those who needed a few more details, though minsan nagkakaiba ng version sa iba ibang agents ng globe. Their sales called me up a while ago regarding my preorder last Saturday.

-Sabi nga ni Mitch, Globe is offering the Samsung Galaxy S 2 FREE for MySuperSurf plan 2,499 for a limited time only (which is I guess within the preorder period) and thru the online preorder form only.

-There’s no plan 2,799 (they said it was a typographical error).

-Come launch date June 27, the SGS2 will no longer be offered free @ plan 2499, instead it will be free for plan 3,799. You can still get it at plan 2499 but you have to pay 6,836 for the unit (on top of MSF).

Again, I may have gotten a few details wrong kasi minsan nagkakaiba ang feedback from them pero that’s what I have confirmed from the sales support agent that I have spoken with.

    • Avatar for benj benj says:

The preorder page from Globe has now been corrected:
      http://site.globe.com.ph/galaxy_s2?sid=TgHfPMuxpRcAACRxjy8AAACBe

It now reads preorder now and you can get it Free with My SuperSurf plan 2499 (instead of the erroneous 2,799 which was previously posted). Kinda curious though that they haven’t edited the NFC capability of their SGS2 still in the list of features. Meron nga kaya? Anybody would like to confirm it with Samsung Mobile Philippines?
