Samsung has announced the Odyssey OLED G6, the world’s first 500Hz OLED gaming monitor according to the brand.

It features a 27-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440) display, with a smooth 500Hz refresh rate and a 0.03ms response time, powered by QD-OLED technology.

The monitor also supports VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 for deeper blacks and vibrant colors, and it’s compatible with NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for smoother gameplay.

It peaks at a max brightness of 1,000 nits and sports Samsung’s Glare Free technology to reduce pesky reflections. The monitor also includes an anti-burn-in feature called OLED Safeguard+ to preserve the display quality over time.

Furthermore, the monitor is Pantone Validated, meaning it offers accurate color reproduction with the ability to display over 2,100 colors and more than 110 SkinTone shades from Pantone’s library.

Availability

Samsung has yet to mention the monitor’s official price, but it will initially available in Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. The brand says it will have a wider rollout to other countries later in the year.
