The first thing I remembered last Saturday was a client texting me asking why I was sending him some sort of a messange from Yahoo! Messenger. I shrugged it off and texted back saying I was away the whole day and didn’t have time to be online, much more leave him a message over YM.
The message was something like this:
“Shit this bitch is hot check this shit out http://simple-host.getmyip.com/login.php”
The next thing I know, dozens and dozens of YM contacts are leaving offline messages asking why I sent them some weird link! Ack, could it be a YM bot virus or something?
I wasn’t online the time this happened and nobody else was using my PC so how was that possible? I have Avast anti-virus on all the time and it’s being updated real-time. I also do weekly spyware checks using Ad-Aware and Spybot.
What else did I miss? How could that have happened? Dang.
Sorry to all those 300 contacts on my YM!

Fleeb says:
I received that to. It was a link to a phishing site disguised as a Yahoo! Mail login screen. I don’t have any clues how it was done… somebody got your password?
Arbet says:
Sir, do you have a sample of the message and/or link?
Fleeb says:
This was the message:
” shit this bitch is hot check this shit out http://simple-host.getmyip.com/login.php ”
The link leads to the phishing site.
Arbet says:
Thanks, Mr. Fleeb.
jami says:

Ross says:
It’s alright…natatawa nga ako eh..harharhar.
Hey Arbet look at Fleeb message!
Crawdaddy4x4PH says:
Hahaha yeah… I knew you were infected when I got the message so I just let it be.
You’re clean now?
Abe Olandres says:
Frankly, I am not even sure what exactly it is. I did updates, virus scans with no results. I also used Trend Micro’s HouseCall online scanning to no avail.
When that happened I was away from my PC. It is possible that someone must have snooped my YM login or something but why it didn’t change my password, I don’t know.
Really weird and until now, I haven’t identified the culprit.
