Listen to article

Some iPhone 6 Plus users are experiencing a widespread flickering display and touchscreen issues dubbed as the “Touch Disease” of the handset. Apple has not yet acknowledged the issue — until now.

The company has issued a “Multi-Touch Repair Program” specifically for the iPhone 6 Plus although there are conditions to follow and it’s not exactly free. The phone experiencing the issue should be in working order w/ no cracks or broken display. Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider will work on the repair for a manufacturer’s suggested service price of $149 USD or around Php7,400. Pricing may vary for some Apple Authorized Service Providers.

For those who already paid for the repair though authorized repair centers will receive a reimbursement of the cost. You may contact Apple here for assistance. Although, the reimbursement amount will only be the difference between the price paid for the service to your device and the recent manufacturer’s suggested service price.

Additional conditions include the restriction of the repair only to the country of purchase and the participation of telcos. The program will cover for 5 years after the first retail sale of the unit.
