We tried the Acer eKinekt Desk Bike

Listen to article

We visited the demo room of Acer here in Las Vegas for the CES 2023 where they showed some of the new products they will release this year (plus some upcoming ones we’re not even allowed to talk about or take pictures of).

One of the more interesting ones is this eKinekt BD 3. The bike desk converts energy from the rider’s pedaling power to charge laptops or other devices.

The desk features two USB Type-A and one USB Type-C port for multiple mobile device charging, a bag hook, and a beverage holder. Once you start pedaling and reach a minimum 60RPM, you can gain up to 75W of power per hour that can charge your laptop or smartphone. Of course, the charge will vary on how fast you pedal and the resistance settings (1 to 4) settings you dial in.

It also comes with a companion smartphone app helps review progress over time and shows information such as duration, calories burned, and watts generated. The eKinekt BD 3 will have a global price of $999 and will be available soon.
