0:00Today we have another smartphone
0:02head-to-head. With the recent launch of
0:04Poco’s F8 series, we thought, what’s the
0:07difference between the F8 Ultra and the
0:09F7 Ultra? And no, it’s not Vin Diesel or
0:13Paul Walker. The Poco F7 Ultra has
0:17already proved itself as one of the best
0:19value flagships of its time with its
0:21powerful chipset, fast charging, and
0:24highly competitive pricing. But now, the
0:26Poco F8 Ultra steps in with an even more
0:29ambitious spec sheet, and it aims to
0:31pull the F-S series deeper into true
0:34flagship territory. The question is,
0:36does it actually outclass the F7 Ultra,
0:39or is this just another incremental
0:42follow-up? Let’s get into it.
0:45[music]
0:51Starting off with design and build, the
0:53Poco F8 Ultra immediately gives off a
0:56much more premium vibe compared to its
0:58predecessor. It features a satin finish
1:00glass back, a bold and redesigned camera
1:03island, and a sturdy aluminum frame.
1:05Despite housing a 6,500 mAh battery, the
1:08F8 Ultra weighs 218 g, which is still
1:12reasonable for a device of its size. It
1:15also carries IP68 water and dust
1:17resistance, making it feel like a
1:19complete flagship package. [music] And
1:21just like the F8 Ultra, the Poco F7
1:24Ultra, on the other hand, already
1:25delivered a premium feel with the same
1:27glass and metal construction, an IP68
1:30rating, and balanced weight of around
1:32212 g. It looked and felt good for its
1:35class, but the F8 Ultra refineses the
1:38formula. In our opinion, [music]
1:40the F8 Ultra wins here thanks to its
1:42more polished aesthetic and overall more
1:44truly flagship presence. The F7 Ultra
1:46still looks great, but the F8 Ultra
1:49feels like the more mature product. But
1:51of course, design is subjective, and
1:54since they’re pretty much the same
1:56materials and ingress protection, we’re
1:58calling this round a tie. Moving over to
2:01their displays, the Poco F8 Ultra is
2:03equipped with a large 6.92K LTPS AMOLED
2:07display that can dynamically switch from
2:0860 Hz to 120 Hz. It reaches peak
2:12brightness levels of around 3500 nits
2:14and gets support for Dolby Vision and
2:16HDR10 Plus. It delivers excellent color
2:19accuracy and very responsive touch
2:21performance. Watching content is
2:23especially enjoyable thanks to its Bose
2:25tuned 2.1 channel speaker system
2:28complete with a micro subwoofer that
2:30adds depth and bass you don’t normally
2:32hear from smartphone speakers. [music]
2:34It also uses an ultrasonic indisplay
2:36fingerprint scanner that remains fast
2:38even with slightly damp fingers. The
2:40Poco F7 Ultra uses a slightly smaller
2:436.67 in 2K flow AMOLED panel with the
2:46same 60 to 120 Hz refresh rate. It gets
2:49a slightly smaller [music] peak
2:50brightness of 3200 nits and also offers
2:53vivid colors, deep blacks, and strong
2:55HDR performance. The stereo speakers are
2:58good, but not nearly as fullbodied as
3:01the F8 Ultra’s enhanced setup. For
3:03biometrics, it also gets a fast and
3:05reliable indisplay ultrasonic
3:06fingerprint scanner. So, for this
3:08segment, it really comes down to one
3:10thing, and that’s the auditory
3:12experience, which is why the F8 Ultra
3:15takes this round for its better 2.1
3:17channel Bose tuned speaker setup.
3:19[music]
3:19And of course, it gets plus points for
3:21the brighter panel output and display
3:23size. Moving over to performance, the
3:26Poco F8 Ultra is powered by the Qualcomm
3:28Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen [music] 5 paired
3:31with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X memory and
3:34512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Day-to-day
3:38use is blazing fast, apps load
3:40instantly, animations [music] remain
3:42smooth, and even demanding games run at
3:44stable high frame rates. [music] The F7
3:47Ultra, while still very capable, runs on
3:49the previous Snapdragon [music] 8 Elite
3:51chipset. It delivers strong performance
3:53and smooth gaming, but benchmark results
3:55show a clear gap. The F8 Ultra’s
3:57benchmarks easily surpass its
3:59predecessor with scores above 3.6
4:01million in Antut2u version 11 and
4:04storage speeds that also broke past 4200
4:06megabytes per second for both read and
4:08write. [music] The S7 Ultra remains
4:10fast, responsive, and more than enough
4:12for everyday use, just not as future
4:15proof. Either way, both phones handle
4:17any apps we could throw at them, and
4:19most users won’t really see [music] a
4:21big difference in day-to-day usage, but
4:23we still do need a winner for this
4:25round. And the F8 Ultra decisively wins
4:28in pure performance numbers. For optics,
4:31the Poco F8 Ultra sports a 50 megapixel
4:33setup at the rear, featuring a 50
4:35megapixel main camera, a 50 megapixel
4:38ultrawide, and a 50 megapixel periscopic
4:40telephoto lens, which serves as the 5x
4:42optical zoom. The F7 Ultra also features
4:45a triple camera system [music] featuring
4:47a 50 megapixel main shooter, 50
4:49megapixel telephoto lens that [music]
4:51serves as the 2.5x optical zoom, and a
4:5432 meap ultrawide. Jumping into some
4:57sample shots, both camera systems
5:00perform similarly, but when looking at
5:02the same shots side by side, we notice
5:05that the F7 Ultra tends to favor cooler
5:07tones and can add a slight pink tint to
5:10its images. Interestingly, in less than
5:12ideal lighting conditions, both phones
5:14handle shadows and contrast differently.
5:17It’s as if the F7 Pro tends to preserve
5:19more shadow and highlight detail,
5:21resulting in a more HDR-like image than
5:23its predecessor. All in all, this was a
5:26bit of a struggle to decide on, but for
5:28cameras, the F8 Ultra wins, though not
5:32by much. Both phones perform well, but
5:34the better zoom capability gives the F8
5:37Ultra a clear advantage. For software,
5:40out of the box, the F8 Ultra comes with
5:42HyperOS 3.0 based on Android 16. It
5:45feels refined, fluid, and very
5:48responsive thanks to new animations and
5:50better background memory handling. It
5:52also introduces more AI tools and a
5:54dynamic island-like feature that serves
5:56as a minimized app hub for certain apps
5:59like Spotify, calls, timers, and more.
6:02Floating windows also come with more
6:04fluid animations and are easier to use,
6:06showing off the overall software
6:08stability. The F7 Ultra runs on Hyper
6:10OS2 based on Android 15. It’s already
6:13stable, lightweight, and customizable,
6:15but lacks the refinement and stability
6:18and newer features found in the F8
6:20Ultra. The Hyper OS3 update should be
6:22coming to the F7 Ultra models soon if
6:25you don’t have it already. Either way,
6:27for this segment, we’ll be giving it to
6:29the F8 Ultra due to the updated
6:32software, extra features, and smoother
6:34overall experience. For battery, the F8
6:37Ultra has a massive 6,500 mAh battery
6:40capable of easily lasting up to two days
6:42of moderate or light usage. It supports
6:45100 watts of wired charging, 50 watts of
6:47wireless charging, and even 22.5 reverse
6:50wireless charging. In PC Marks Work 3.0
6:53battery test, it achieved 20 hours and
6:5520 minutes, which is very impressive for
6:57a device this powerful. The F7 Ultra, on
7:00the other hand, features a smaller 5,300
7:02mAh battery with a faster 120 watt wired
7:06charging rate and 50 watts of wireless
7:08support, too. It lasts a full day
7:10comfortably, but Endurance naturally
7:12trails behind the larger battery of the
7:14F8 Ultra. In PC Marks Work 3.0 battery
7:16test, it garnered a result of 14 hours
7:19and 16 minutes, which isn’t necessarily
7:21bad, but we can see why it needed that
7:24faster wired charging speed. So, for
7:27battery, the F8 Ultra wins again thanks
7:30to significantly longer battery life.
7:32For connectivity, both devices cover all
7:34the necessary connectivity options,
7:36including 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, NFC,
7:40and an IR blaster. The F8 Ultra adds
7:43eSIM support, although using that
7:45feature disables the secondary SIM slot.
7:48Its USB type-C 3.2 port can also output
7:51video, making it compatible with
7:52external displays. The F7 Ultra offers
7:55traditional dual SIM functionality with
7:57no eSIM support in sight, and you can’t
8:00display video via Type-C on this device.
8:03So, for connectivity, we’re giving it to
8:05the Poco F8 Ultra for offering eSIM
8:08convenience. Now, before we wrap this
8:11video up, let’s talk about price. The
8:14Poco F8 Ultra starts at 39,999
8:18pesos for the 12 + 256 gig configuration
8:21and 42,999
8:23pesos for the 16 + 512 gig variant. The
8:26Poco F7 Ultra starts at 36,999
8:30pesos and 39,999
8:32pesos for the same configurations,
8:34respectively. That’s a gap of 3,000
8:37pesos for each model’s SRPs. So, yes,
8:40the PO F8 Ultra is a bit more expensive,
8:43but it deserves praise for not having to
8:45jack the price up to actual flagship
8:47territory. So, which one should you buy?
8:50Well, if you want the most powerful,
8:52most premium, and most future ready Poco
8:54F-S series phone yet, the Poco F8 Ultra
8:57is the obvious choice. [music] It
8:59delivers meaningful upgrades in
9:00performance, battery life, multimedia,
9:03cameras, and software stability. But if
9:06you want flagship level specs at the
9:08lowest possible entry point, the Poco F7
9:11Ultra remains an extremely strong value
9:13pick. It shares many strengths of the F8
9:16Ultra, but comes in at a more budget
9:18friendly price. But what do you guys
9:21think? If you’re considering upgrading
9:23from a phone from 5 years ago or more,
9:26would you rather get the Poco F8 Ultra
9:28or the F7 Ultra, which you guys might
9:30even be able to get for a much bigger
