The OPPO Watch launched in the Philippines last month. It packs a Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC with an Apollo Chip runs on Wear OS by Google, and powered by a 300mAh battery. Check out our initial thoughts on this new smartwatch below.
The OPPO Watch is a 41mm smartwatch that features a 1.6-inch AMOLED display with a 320 x 360 resolution or 326ppi for a crisp viewing experience.
The watch uses an aluminum frame with a fluororubber strap, which is light and is minimalistic with its design. Wearing the smartwatch might get some getting used to, though, since it’s different from the usual watch strap that we are accustomed to.
It has sensors such as Tri-axial acceleration, Gyroscope, Geomagnetic, Barometric, Optical heartbeat, Capacitance, and Ambient light sensors, most of which, you will find at the back of the watch.
On the right side of the watch, you will find two buttons: The one on top is the where you access your Wear OS apps, while the one at the bottom acts as a shortcut button (which is set to fitness tracker by default) that you can change later on. By long pressing the shortcut button, it also serves the OPPO Watch’s power button to let you turn off, restart, or go on power saver mode. On the other side of the watch, you will find the loudspeaker and microphone for answering calls or saying commands to your Google Assistant.
The OPPO Watch sports various features such as Daily Activity Tracker, Heart Rate measurement, Sleep tracker, Google Assistant, and a space dedicated for viewing notifications.
The OPPO Watch has apps that are linked to Wear OS on your device. Although the watch has a good, crisp display, battery life is quite troublesome as it is only at 390mAh and only lasted for less than 24 hours while using it heavily. This can be addressed by using Power Saver mode but limits you to basic functions like reading the time, step counting, heartrate Measurement, and viewing notifications.
As for the price, the OPPO Watch is available for PHP 12,990USD 221INR 18,765EUR 211CNY 1,612 in all OPPO concept and online stores and exclusive e-commerce partner, Lazada.
