Total gas station rest stop along South Super Hi-way near Calamba. Good radio signal in Seattle’s Best, Via Mare, etc. Don’t know the exact loc though but might be Google-able. Also, Rossi Yogo frozen yogurt bar in Mall of Asia. Not totally free as you need to buy something before they give you the passphrase to WEP. Quiet, lots of tables and available power outlets on the walls. They have 3 free internet terminals for non-wifi users. Good place to hang-out and surf the web while enjoying the yogurt.

Here’s a few more that I know of:

Daungan Poolside Restaurant, Mo. Ignacia, QC (at Danara Hotel)… for swim, dine and wifi experience :)
All Galleria Malls.
Starbucks c/o Chinabank across Citibank Makati.
Someone said Gateway has one too.

if you have DSL in your store and need FREE consulting on setting up wifi there, give me a buzz. I’d be happy to help set up ANOTHER FREE wifi hotspot.

More power to FREE wifi… !!!

Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino is now officially a 100% Hot Spot Hotel. Earlier this year, it launched its “Do You Have Free Time Today?” Campaign, offering FREE internet time in the Lobby Lounge, all the restaurants at the Gourmet Walk and all its function rooms in the Lobby Level. No hitch. Absolutely free.

Now Waterfront recently inked a partnership with PLDT, giving all of its 561 guest rooms Broadband Wireless Internet Access.

Now guests can be online anytime, anywhere in Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino!

Has anybody successfully used Galleria’s free Wi-Fi recently? I haven’t been able to connect for the last two times I tried to. Buti na lang na-sulit ko yung yung 1-hour AA card ko–due to a glitch in the matrix, umabot ng halos 3 hours. :D

@ardie:
wifi is just some kind of LAN that is wireless. So the internet speed really depends on the type of connection on the server of that wireless LAN. Wifi will be faster if the network has a lease line or business type of connection which can be seen on corporate or commercial networks. BTW, wifi has a speed of 54 Mbps on the network(most common), although the latest protocols can support up to 100 Mbps or beyond.

“HI there J. Angelo Racoma where in maginhawa does have an wifi free access”

One, in front of my place (that’s near JMX computers–and no, I don’t own the shop).

Two, near mini-stop. My bro says there’s a cafe there that has WiFi. Haven’t tried it out yet, though.

Three, Belcap building, where Equitable PCI is situated. Used that once. It’s open-access. Don’t know who owns it though (does the fact that I accidentally gained admin access to the router menas I own–or rather pwn–it? Heheh).

There may be others, as Maginhawa is a long, long road. What about Kalayaan Ave? There’s Airborne Access at Mocha Blends Malakas St. (near Heart Center).

Am connected via a “linksys” network right now at the Luisa building (where Belcap and Equitable savings bank are located) along Maginhawa street in Teachers Village (also near the barangay hall / Mini Stop).

Not a very strong signal, but bearable. Someone must be ok with sharing his/her office WiFi. Either that, or they don’t know how to configure their network (the “linksys” name suggests so). Just a block away, I’m sharing my WiFi access myself!

Philcom at Cyberzone is dead. I’ve leeched borrowed signal from a certain “SpeedTouch2475E8” WiFi G access point, though (AA wasn’t connecting at that time). Whoever you are, thank you!
