HTC has a new smartphone in town and it’s their flagship offering to date — the HTC U11. To set the phone apart from the sea of powerful Android handsets, HTC has introduced a new way of interaction called Edge Sense. Let’s compare it with LG’s current top offering to find out which one is the one for you

On paper, HTC’s offering has a number of advantages over LG’s. For one, the chipset powering the LG G6 is last year’s top silicon that’s already been succeeded. This has been LG G6’s main shortcoming when being compared with 2017 flagships. HTC has also mentioned the availability of a more powerful HTC U11 with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage in select markets. Well, LG G6 configurations are market dependent too but only the U.S. is getting wireless charging.
When it comes to optics, the HTC U11 has the highest rated camera on mobile phones now, dethroning the Google Pixel. But, it doesn’t follow the dual camera trend, unlike the LG G6 which has an interesting and fun to use wide-angle lens on its back. Both have good cameras but the LG G6 can give more possibilities thanks to its two rear cameras.
Aside from the dual rear camera, LG G6 also boasts an immersive display, similar to Samsung Galaxy S8. LG calls it FullVision and it even supports HDR content. The HTC U11 does nearly have the same pixel count but still has those boring bezels. What HTC has to offer is Edge Sense. HTC wants y’all to squeeze its phone more often as it has a corresponding command. It’s pretty unique but we want to see more on its applications.
Lastly, HTC U11 doesn’t have a headphone jack but its water and dust resistance is just rated at IP67. It’s not advisable to submerge in water unlike LG G6 thanks to its IP68 rating.
