Google rolls out Gemini Past Chats feature to free users

Listen to article

Google is starting to roll out the “Past Chats” feature to free users of the Gemini app worldwide.

Google’s Past Chats feature will soon be available to free uses of Gemini.

With Past Chats enabled, Gemini can reference your earlier conversations to provide more personalized responses.

This means the AI can remember your preferences and past topics so you do not have to repeat details when starting a new chat.

For example, if you were previously discussing a specific subject, you can continue the conversation without explaining what was already covered. Users can also ask Gemini whether it used information from past chats.

A new “Personal context” page in settings lets users turn Past Chats on or off.

Google also plans to expand this personalization feature to connect with services like Gmail and Photos in the future.

The feature is rolling out globally except in Europe where availability will come later.
