Google rolls out Personal Intelligence for Gemini AI

Listen to article

Google has officially rolled out Personal Intelligence for Gemini, a new opt-in feature that makes its AI assistant more personal and useful. Once enabled, Gemini can securely pull information from your own Google apps such as Gmail, YouTube, Google Search, and Google Photos to give more tailored answers.

The feature is now rolling out in the US to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers, and it works across the web, Android, and iOS. Users can manage it by heading to Gemini Settings > Personal Intelligence and choosing which apps to connect.

Personal Intelligence shines when answering questions that rely on personal context, like finding details from emails, photos, or past searches. Google says the data already lives securely within its ecosystem, so nothing new needs to be uploaded.

For privacy, users can switch to temporary chats to avoid personalization. Google also claims Gemini won’t be trained directly on personal content like Gmail or Photos.
