Google is making Search feel more personal. After introducing Gemini Personal Intelligence last week, the company is now expanding the feature to AI Mode in Google Search, allowing users to get more tailored answers by connecting their Gmail and Google Photos accounts.

Once enabled, AI Mode can use your emails and photos to better understand your plans, preferences, and habits. That means fewer follow-up questions and more relevant suggestions right away. For example, Search can recommend family-friendly activities based on past trips, or suggest shopping items that match your usual brands and upcoming travel.
Google says this also works for fun, creative questions, like asking AI to describe your “perfect day” or imagine your life as a movie. Privacy-wise, Google stresses that everything is opt-in. Users can disconnect anytime, and Gmail or Photos data isn’t used to train the AI directly.
The feature is rolling out as a Labs test for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers in the US, starting in English.
