Microsoft Paint gets OpenAI text-to-image generator on Windows 11

Listen to article

Microsoft Paint is still standing strong and on top of its new features—including the new layers feature—it integrates OpenAI’s DALL-E 3 model to create AI-generated images.

Microsoft Paint Cocreator Fi

As reported by Windows Latest, the new text-to-image generator, dubbed as ‘Cocreator’, is now widely rolling out to Windows 11 users. Previously it was exclusive to Windows 11 Insider build.

Just like ChatGPT, users can enter a prompt to visualize, and Cocreator, within the Paint app, will suggest three AI-generated images as described.

While this is a new and welcome addition to Paint, DALL-E 3 integration has already made its way to other Microsoft services.

It was initially available through Microsoft Bing’s Image Creator. And later made its way to Windows 11 with the overarching Copilot generative AI software integration.
