It’s now confirmed that the new iPad (or the iPad 3) will be officially released in the Philippines on May 29, 2012.
Though the page is not yet posted on the Philippine Apple Online Store, they cited that it will be ready by May via local resellers, Globe Telecom and the Online Store by then.
Pricing information was not also available as of this time. You can read our full review of the iPad 3 here.
Hat tip Rabby Calicdan.
retina display = huge app file size..problema pa pag 16gb lang purchase..better stick to ipad 2
awts! mahal 23k… abroad if converted around 19k plus lang
How sure are we that the 4g will be compatible here? Does sun have 4g? I have their unli plan
Got one in HK a couple of months ago.
Hands down, Retina sure is beautiful. Don’t get frustrated though if facebook pictures or any other pictures/videos are not as sharp as you thought they’d be.
Not all apps have been optimized for the Retina display. But I’m sure App Store developers are hard at work to fully take advantage of retina :)
I wonder what will be the price of these if release officially in the Philippines.
At magkano naman ito at ako ay bibili?
widget city is already selling it for Php 23,200 for 16gb wifi
and kimstore for the same price of php 23,200
Who’s the source? Is he another blogger? I can’t even find the announcement in Apple’s site.
You tend to be big with trust !! Albeit, here it is –

As highlighted, the new iPad will be available on May 29.
Got mine through Kimstore a few weeks ago. The retina display really lived up to its hype. :-D

Would love to have it! Can’t wait too!
I am contented with ipad 2. I dont use its camera. There is a rumor that there will be 7inch ipad so i might as well wait for it.
Will wait for the ipad 7inch.
The return of the king.
What about smart ?! Their LTE frequency band (2.1 Ghz) is compatible with the new iPad. I plan to get the Wifi + Cellular one with them.
It looks like Apple has a “preferred” network to release their products even if they expunged their “network-exclusive” sales strategy.
Correct me if I’m wrong but as far as I know the new iPad runs on 700 Mhz which is not compatible with the LTE from Smart.
The 700 Mhz-only LTE is Verizon’s iPad. The international iPad is the same as the one with AT&T’s (along with Telus and Rogers in Canada) which uses 2 LTE bands (700/2100 Mhz) generating of up to 75 Mbps. Lucky enough, we are the only country along with USA and Canada to use the new iPad’s LTE feature. Thanks to smart ! ;)
SMART will also be the carrier of the new iPad for sure! Cant wait to get a data plan for this.. :)
