Sony Vaio X unboxed!

We’ve finally got a quick review unit of the new super-slim and super-light Sony Vaio X which was launched earlier this week. Check out some more close-up pictures below.

As mentioned in my previous post, external ports like the USB and the VGA are the ones that limit the thin-ness of the Vaio X. So unless these ports are made smaller in future standards, I think this is the thinnest notebooks can go.

I’ve put the Vaio X side by side a Nokia E71.

While this one is with the smaller pocket-sized Vaio P.

I’ll be bringing this unit to Mornings @ ANC this Thursday with TJ so watch out for that too.

nice and thin! you’re right, sinira ng protruding vga port yung design. kung hideaway vga port underneath the chassis like the asus 1008ha pwede kaya?

only way to make that thinner would be for Sony to invest in 2 proprietary ports specialized for thinness both for a VGA out interface & USB but that would be pretty unwieldy later on since you’d be lugging along their adapters.

maybe next time they can change VGA port to HDMI so they can make it much thiner.

yeah… another good product from sony, and I mush agree Pedro, sony has one of the most priciest PC/laptops in the market.. their unit is almost in the price range of a MAC!

What’s with this “thin” thing,or what is the real purpose of a laptop anyway? Does it contribute to its computing power or are people just after bragging rights that they could afford this thingy? Rather lame, isn’t it?

Next thing, they’ll be sporting these round their necks. imfoso.
