And the most successful piece of link bait tool I have ever witnessed is the “How much is your blog worth?” calculator by Dane Carlson of Business Opportunities Weblog. I am sure half of you here have encountered this nifty Technorati-powered script. The little applet uses Technorati’s API which computes and displays your blog’s worth using the same link to dollar ratio as the AOL-Weblogs Inc deal.
The script has generated an estimated 32,247 links from 17,060 sites which basically brings the Business Opportunities Weblog to No. 2 on Technorati’s 100 most popular blogs, next to Boingboing.
