As expected, Globe Telecom is finally offering their Duo service to prepaid subscribers. The catch though is that you need to get a new Duo Special SIM Pack which costs Php45 (old prepaid SIM not supported).
Starting June 5, 2009, the Duo Prepaid service may be availed from Globe Business Centers and partner retailers in Metro Manila. In Cebu, it’s been available since May 25.

The Duo rates for prepaid is higher compared to the postpaid service: Php125 for 5 days and Php350 for 14 days. To activate your DUo SIM pack, just text “DUO MM 125″ or “DUO MM 350″ and send to 8888.
Upon activation, the respective amounts (Php125 or Php350) will be deducted from the prepaid load and the subscriber gets a DUO landline number.
For prepaid users, the subscription must remain active in order for you to retain your Duo number. After 30 days of non-subscription, your Duo service will expire and the number will be de-activated/re-claimed. You will be assigned a new Duo number if you re-activate later on.

Best padin ang SUN at PLDT prepaid. DUO to DUO lang to pwede eh pano kung di naka DUO? Ngek! Sa SUN kht isa lang me load makaka tawag. Shucks! GREEDY talaga ang GLOBE! mas ok nadin smart kesa globe kse mas madami naka smart kesa globe noh!
hINDI KO MAINTINDIHAN YAn! kAIN KO NA LANG NG LUGAW YAn!
Hello Yuga,
Have you seen the new TVC from Globe? It’s quite cute, in a tongue-in-cheek kind of way. They call it Globe Duo or Die and phones commit suicide in the ad. It’s really creative and funny and delivers the message—subscribe to Duo or else you’re dead—quite well. Has anyone seen it? It’s in Youtube now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2zGFkGMrW0
In other words naka DUO na ako.
Kailangan ba aside from your load ex 125.. meron ka pa dapat additional na load? Para lang makapag text sa globe or same network?
How about sa other network?
Registration is 25 pesos, may 1 day unlimited outgoing calls ka na to any DUO numbers at sa LANDLINE phone numbers…

parang dpa din kaya tapatan talaga ng globe ang smart pagdating sa service….i’ve been waiting for the next action of globe counterpart service for smart all calls kasi most of my families are using smart kaya kaingit yung all calls nila sabi ko tatapatan yan ng globe mas maganda pa strategy nila….kaso bokya when i finally seen globe duo….walang wenta na nga….hanggang metro manila pa rin lang too expensive and not yummy!
^^smart user pala kasi kayo lahat, kami kasi sa barakada and kapamilya, puros globe kami. kaya ok sa kin ang globe lalo na ang globe duo, enjoy tumawag ng tumawag since naka duo din sila.walang putol ang kwentuhan at kulitan.
laki pala difference
POSTPAID: P400/30days
PREPAID: P350/14days
this is very terrible. this is extortion!why do we have to buy another sim pack? new sim, new number? why can’t they just support our old numbers? does anyone out there wants to change his old number? especially if you’ve been using that old number for quite some time and your friends, relatives and contacts knew your old number very well. lastly, this even more expensive than other networks! globe telecom will fall if they will not change their business strategies. in these times of needs, who would want to subscribe to a very expensive telecom service?

im a prepaid subscriber and tried the one day promo for Php25 this morning. i was able to use the outgoing call (globe duo to local landline), but the incoming call feature from a LANDLINE was not working. the voice prompt said NOT IN SERVICE. i called 211 and reported the problem, and was asked to monitor within 24hrs.
after 5 hours, i was able to receive an incoming call from a landline. but when i tried using the outgoing feature (to another landline number), ITS NO LONGER WORKING. seems like we cannot use BOTH incoming and outgoing features at the same time!! i don’t think this should be advertised as UNLIMITED, as obviously this is NOT.
their customer service team was also of no help.
Nel tama ka dyan walang kwenta ang globe duo! eh buti nga ikaw may toot toot toot pa eh yung sakin sorry this call is not permitted!
The globe duo service is a crap for prepaid subscribers. I already subscribed for a month and I cannot connect to pldt landlines for 4 days already. I also have the 500 prefix and the service was good until 4 days ago.
I cannot make outgoing calls to PLDT landlines but calling up any Bayantel or Globelines is without a hiss. But receiving call from these landlines on my Duo number poses no problem at all.
I am hoping that they will fix this glitch soon or my Php 450 subscription will just go to waste.
So anyone who is planning to get one better think about it carefully as the service now sucks!
I am a prepaid subsriber and availed of the DUO service. Their ad is a hoax…i cannot connect to any PLDT landline number (yeah i used the 02 syntax thing).
same thing happened to me. I have a prepaid service, before I can make outgoing calls to any landline. After subscribing to DUO, I cant make any calls to any landline anymore, except globe landlines. incoming calls from any landline works naman… kaso wala na ako matawagan na landline.
I called up Globe’s 24hour Call-in Service and they told me that they are experiencing technical issues on connection to PLDT lines. This was adviced to them last Aug18. The person i talked to said they aren’t sure when the problem will be solved but their technical team is already on it. Its very disappointing as most of my friends are on PLDT lines. Hopefully, they can fix the problem asap. I’d still go for the 30-day DUO (im on prepaid!) coz its cheaper than the 1/5/14 days.
best parin ang smart and PLDT tandem ko. I’m using pldt call all for only 250 per month, unlimited call and i can now run my business kahit wala ako sa manila. I can also subscribe to smart unlicall para pang mobile calls naman. Sa mga clients ko naman na naka other network, i can just text them and give them my landline para makapag usap kami.
Globe broadband, Globe Lines is a NO NO sa akin. dahil sa ginawa nila sa phone line and internet connection namin. So what’s the diff sa mobile services nila?
very expncv..
sabi nyo abot mo ang mundo…
metro manila lang ang cebu and duo…
unfair nmn yun…
forever n nka globe me..
but hindi ako ng try n mag duo.. my land line nmn kmi.. and sa mommy ko naka pldt all call sa nueve ecija.. much maganda ksi yun my land line kmi and ulimted call to land line.. 250 lng per month.. hindi mbigat bayaran..
dun p lng much better na yung pldt all call..
hope n makaisip kyo ng much better and hindi lng sana sa metro manila and cebu…
alang kuwenta!!! nag-try ako mag-register for 1 day just to try it, nka-register naman & globe had given me a landline # (02-5046367)… pero hindi ako naka-connect kahit once sa kahit anong landline!!! its a waste of money & time really…and when i called 211 (globe toll-free prepaid hotline) the customer service told me that there are some globe prepaid nos. that are still not set by the system for globe duo including mine (09176670566)!!! huh??? at wala sila masabi kundi “sorry for the inconvenience”… bullshit….
well i just subscribed to globe duo using my prepaid globe phone last oct 11, 5pm. i can receive calls from pldt landlines, but not the other way around. i thought this issue was already fixed. bayantel lines work well though. i called globe and they said after the complaints during the past month, the duo to pldt issue was already resolved. called their cust service for 3 times, and the rep who last talked to me said to wait for 3-5 days before it gets serviced. according to her, to enjoy and make ‘sulit’ (her term) use of the globe duo subscription, i should call instead bayantel lines. and i was like, omg, you’re telling me to make the most out of it by calling bayantel lines while all i need to call are business lines which are mostly pldt? well it’s their cust service rep.
and my subscription is 1 month, since i joined without qualms. what if the subscription is less than 3-5 days? then everything went to nothing? until now, oct 13 7am, i still can’t call pldt lines. globe doesn’t deliver, at least on my end. so frustrating.
nakakalito talaga… anoooooo ….. ba……???
Have you heard of the Super duo promo?
globe duo sucks. ever since i subscribed i can’t contact a single landline, and my friends tell me that they can’t contact me thru landline either. the only numbers i can call are other globe duos. don’t waste your money.
