Was looking around from some good deals on 40+ inch LCD TVs and Anson’s Appliance Store seems to be doing a sale this summer. Check out some of the good deals I saw on HDTVs after the jump.
The target LCD size is between 40″ and 46″ with a maximum budget of Php80k (the same amount I paid for a 32″ Samsung HDTV about 2 years ago).

The likely candidates are the ff.
Samsung Series 5 LCD TV (40″)
Php89,990 (Php9,000 discount for cash/straight CC)
Free P181K DVD Player
Toshiba Regza (42″ 10-bit)
Php79,990 (Php8,000 discount for cash/straight CC)
Free Toshiba SD-580 DVD Player
Sanyo Vizon (42″)
Php59,995 (Php6,000 discount for cash/straight CC )
The units from Sharp and Sony are just beyond the Php100k mark for the same sizes so they’re out of the list. The Sanyo Vizon seems to be the best deal of the lot, unless you’re very particular about the brand. All three feature a 1080p (1920×1080 pixel) LCD screen.
There are so many other entrants in the 32″ category, mostly coming from China and they’re priced very low compared to the other name brands (TCL, for example, offers a 32″ LCD TV at sub-30k prices).

how about their quality yuga?, i wouldnt want to spend that much if its mediocre.
Waste of money buying LCD TVs I’ve always thought. I’d rather buy bling hip-hopper style, pwede mo pang ipag benta later.
maganda lng lcd pag naka skycable.
If you can live without 1080p, you can find a lot of good deals. I bought a 42″ LG TV for less than P50k a month ago. I compared 720p output to 1080p before I bought – for me the choice was 1080p at a smaller size, or 720p at 42 inches. I chose the larger screen and am happy with my decision (esp. since I don’t plan on going Blu-Ray – none of my media is in 1080p anyway). Frankly the difference in quality between 720p and 1080p is minimal on a 42″ LCD – perhaps the gap will be more apparent on a larger size screen.
did you consider local brands like devant/syntax/promac?

ya its true, unless your playing HD or bluray, note we have no HD cable here and cable signal is not strong enough most of the times to supply a high quality picture (you might need an signal amplifier). that noted, theyre getting bigger, thinner and cheaper. 46 is a good size and Samsung is a good brand. Sony is way overpriced, does anyone SEE the difference?
Also regarding Samsung, their models with “content” are absolute worthless, you cant create custom content (well you can download a few) and its not very helpful, like static screens. Maybe slideshows a perk but there are some bugs. Also the USB ports only support flash drives, no USB HD supported, and it only plays certain types of media in certain formats, no MKV. Be sure to read the support file formats, resolutions and codecs if you’re interested in that. A good perk, there’s a lan port, so you can hook up a bridge or router to it and wirelessly (should be N, G is too slow) stream video or youtube or what not from your PC or media server to it
Best to go to alternative stores such as Listening in Style in Shang and TheaterWorks in Trinoma.
I would recommend a Panasonic Plasma 42″ that sells for P45t then add a WD player via HDMI for another P6t. You can’t go wrong with that.
Yep. I have a WD TV and I must say, it was a worthwhile purchase.
tama si Tenshi…maganda ang Plasma ng Panasonic at mura pa sa Theaterworks.
Abe, if your going to purchase for a new one, Im interested in buying your old 32 inch LCD Tv. Let me know thanks! call or text me @ 09193549582, im having a hard time to call your personal mobile number.
we bought 46″ sony bravia v series lcd for 13X,XXX pesos at Anson’s 3 weeks ago.. the package includes another 32″ lcd (not full hd) and 2 home theater system for both units. I think twas a good deal since we were able to lower down the price from 149,XXX petot… cheers!!

they let you do a huge discount but really so its bad for those who buy the high price
hmmm wait… panasonic had shut down its lcd factory, right?
Olyver,
Nope. Panasonic shut down their plant producing magnesium batteries since there are no or little demand for them anymore. That plant is located in Rizal. The one located in sta. Rosa is still operational as I pass through their vicinity everyday.
About LCD TV, has anyone tried Philips LCD TV? what can you say about it?
its weird.. I saw a Samsung 32″ for 40k only.. I dun have tat much money yet to buy HDTV so i’ll stick to CTR TVs!! ahihihi
im presently in riyadh and the price of Samsung series 1 32″ LCD is just 21000 pesos.
wow huge price difference when compared here in malaysia
the cheapest one right now is a philips 32″ lcd tv
around php22,300, a fulll hd lg 32″ is about php31,500 and a full hd sony 42″ is only php65,000 now the problem is how to bring it back to pinas
Wow, they’re getting more affordable ah…
42-inch Panasonic plasmas are having a close-out price right now, they are priced just around P40K, that’s the 720p (1024 x 768) model of course.
32-inch branded LCDs, again Panasonic, are going for around P25K, why the need to go for China brands when you can get Panasonic for the same price (possibly even cheaper)?
Sony is way too overpriced here in the Philippines. Stay away from Sony unless you have lots of money to burn.
Nice..but samsung has 32″ LCD TV for 38K less 4K cash straight series 3 yata un..and alam ko nung Last Dec nagpromo rin ang LG ng LCD nila worth 29K for 32″..sayang wala me pera nun time na un..
Just bought a devant 32″ lcd tv for P29k+. with free dvd player where you can attach a USB flash drive. Then saw the same unit at glorietta before the holy week and the same package was offered to me for P27k flat. darn. Instead of using the dvd player though, i’m using it mostly with dream cable and wd tv and a 250gb WD passport. Best to watch CSI Miami in it. Wonderful color setting. Better than colors I get from CSI and the others.
there are devant models that costs less than 25k for a 32″
Really? wow, could buy 2 or 3 32″ instead of the costly 40″… if i have the extra cash.
well for me its all about punctuality why spending your money for a high price LCD? did you ever think that there’s no HD channel here in the Philippines even your a cable subscriber. i bought a Devant 32″ inches LCD same specs that you can find on samsung sony phillips LG etc… the only diff is the brand’s name you brought the brand name not the product’ all LCD TV are china made nut usually they put a Korea or Thailand made LCD.
am planning to buy LCD… pero may nakita ko same price of 32″LCD na 50″ Plasma… ok ba ung LCD compare to Plasma in terms of life? how long ung plasma mag lalast.. samsung and panasonic plasma compared to LCD Bravia of Sony
