18-inch Samsung tablet specification leaks

Samsung loves to introduce devices with huge display. When it offered the Galaxy Tab PRO 12.2 and Galaxy Note Pro 12.2 in 2014, everyone was surprised to see a gigantic tablet for consumer use but other manufacturers followed. Eventually, Apple joined the trend and introduced the iPad Pro. Now, Samsung is at it again with an 18-inch tablet.

The screenshot above confirms the existence of the big Samsung slate. According to the GFXBench results, the 18-inch glory has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. This will give us a disappointing pixel density of 125ppi which low by today’s standards. Even Samsung’s latest tablet offering, Galaxy Tab S2, has 264ppi for a crisp and clear display.

The gigantic tablet in question here is the Samsung Galaxy View, a new tablet line-up by the Korean tech giant. It was teased back at IFA 2015 in Berlin last month. It will be powered by an Exynos 7580 SoC with 2GB of RAM. There’s 32GB of internal memory that is expandable through a microSD slot, 2-megapixel front camera, a 5,700mAh battery and Android 5.1.1 onboard. Early reports say it will have an 8-megapixel rear camera but the benchmark results doesn’t show any. Its specification positions the tablet in the mid-range segment. Perhaps we can expect a “Pro” version soon.
