HP Mini 311 unboxed, in the flesh!

Due to insistent demand and because we just can’t resist the temptation of comparing netbook performance, I purchased the HP Mini 311-1001TU. See unboxing video and photos after the jump.

For complete specs, check here. For details on how much and where to buy, check here. For a side-by-side comparison between the HP Mini 311 and the MSI Wind12 U210, go here.

The HP Mini 311 looks real cool so far. Been in the box for a couple days now since I was searching for my old tripod for the video unboxing. As mentioned earlier, the DVD+RW drive comes with the box.

Now, we can do some real-world performance comparison with this one and the MSI Wind U210. If you have suggestions on which benchmark tools I’ll use, please let me know in the comments.

Lets try playing some games COD4 would work as long as the settings are kept at low. I’m quite sure SiMS 3 would work.

Also try some video transcoding although I doubt someone would actually try that. Can your a hackintosh as well?

sir favor naman! Try to play HD MOVIES. 720p or 1080p kung kaya ba. Eto lang talaga habol ko since addict ako sa movies and not into gaming. If ok, then im good to go. Tagal ko na hinintay to kasi. Thanks.

One thing I really would like to know if this beast can really play 1080p videos flawlessly. Can you give it spin doing that Abe?

Sir na try nyo na po ba yung webcam kung gumagana? i just bought my HP mini on nov.4 @ complink sa MOA. Nung tinest nila yung webcam wala daw pang testing sabi nung technician na kausap ko, after doing my own thing, i found out na hindi pala gumaga yung HP-Webcam 50 driver. Now after installing new driver, it now work fine… sharing lang po ng experience sa mini 311.

    Try..
    -processor benchmark
-Operating Time @ 40~60% consistent load (note if 6 or 9-cell battery was used)
-h.264 decoding preferably software that exploits the GPU’s abiity to decode 1080p video at 1920 x 1080
-direct3d games fps (pic a 3-5 year old game & a recent game as sample)

  17. darkcloud says:

I thought of getting the HP mini 311. Pero, I decided to get the Toshiba T135-S1309. I just got it last night. Its a netbook on “steroids”. It’s actually a marriage between a laptop and a netbook, kinda in the gray area. It’s 13 inches and much much slimmer than the HP mini 311 with better resolution. There is no optical drive. I’ve seen both gadget’s performance and so far, it’s pretty darn fast I must say. Worth checking out.

  22. zoegod says:

bought my own HP Mini 311
Im a gaming addict and this netbook is a beast
just tested DOOM 3 and Left 4 dead II and it worked at high setting. but flawless gaming at mid setting.
