Qube QTouch Windows 7 Tablet

Listen to article

Local PC retailer Qube is accepting pre-orders of what could be a 10-inch Windows 7 tablet they call QTouch. The Qube QTouch is one of the very few Windows-based tablet available locally and Qube claims you can install Android OS in it.

As most Windows 7 tablets go, the system is Intel-based and as such, would look very much like your regular netbook in terms of specs.

Qube QTouch Windows 7 Tablet
10.1” TFT Capacitive LCD Display @ 1024×600 pixels
Intel Lincroft Atom Z670 1.5GHz
Intel Whitneypoint SM35
1GB DDRIIRAM
32GB PSSD with Mini PCI-E Form Factor
1.3MP webcam
WiFi 802.11b/g/n
Bluetooth 2.1
53Whr battery capacity
Windows 7 or Android OS supported

The tablet is 14.5mm thick and weighs 900 grams — a little bit on the heavier side. As for the price, the QTouch starts at a base price of Php19,999 for the WiFi-only and without the Windows 7 OS then goes up to Php24,999 if you want a WiFi+3G model and Windows 7 pre-installed.

You can just go to their website here and make the pre-order for the July 29 release.

Do not buy this product. I bought one last July 8, 2012. Monthly it malfunctions. The company is concerned only about HOW TO LEECH THE BLOOD OF OF THE CUSTOMTERS MONEY. Thrice I asked for their help about THIS DEFECTIVE PRODUCT yes they did respond but at the end THEY WANT ME TO PAY P 6 THOUSAND PESOS BECAUSE ACCORDING TO THEM THE BOARD SHOULD BE REPLACE. I TELL YOU THIS IS A MODUS, AT FIRST IT WILL WORK THEN ONCE IT STARTS MALFUNCTIONING THEY WILL ASK YOU TO REPLACE PARTS OF IT COSTING TO A LOT OF MONEY. ABOUT THE WARRANTY? DON’T BELIEVE IT, THEY WILL NOT HONOR IT. SO FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO BUY THIS DEFECTIVE PRODUCT I SINCERELY ADVISE YOU NOT TO. OR ELSE YOU’LL REMOARSE AT THE END. MALAKING PAGSISISI AT PAGUUBOS NG PERA SA ISANG PRODUKTONG SOBRANG DEFECTIVE AT SA ISANG KUMPANYA NA WALANG CONSIDRATION SA CONSUMER. ALL THEY WANT IS TO EARN BUT THEIR PRODUCTS ARE DEFECTIVE! RATING OF THIS PRODUCT ! NEGATIVE!!!

Surprisingly, Yuga doesn’t have any comments and reviews for this gadget… and it’s been a while now since qube released this tablet.
qube doesn’t have any updates for their product either.
Theres a lot of questions that I think need to be answered.
People were asking for quite sometime now If this gadget is capable for a dual-OS boot.
And when do you plan to correct the keyboard errors I mentioned on page 1?
People who bought this tablet who got the same complain like me with regards to the keyboard errors, I think Qube should replace our keyboard.
Also, you should give us an update for other accessories that’ll be available on your stores.
(like screen guards, NEW leather cover and others)

Hi qube.

I just want to know that I already tried the qube tablet in Gilmore last September or October and it was okay. My question is: Is there any way to increase the RAM memory from 1gb to 2 or 4gb? Because I really want a faster speed and proper keyboard functionality when I am on the field and playing games on the tablet.

Hope for your immediate response. Thanks.

there’s no way to upgrade the memory internally.

BE
benjo · 14 years ago

yes i think there is but it will void your warranty because you will need to open the tablet and change your ram chip.

Aldrin · 15 years ago

I just bought one at alabang. With win7 and office installed, memory is almost at the 800MB. Is there a way to upgrade the internal memory to at least 2gb? Low memory make its difficult to print multiple pages as it needed more cache.

Positive: Long battery life to almost 12hrs.

may tanong lang po is the performance of the tablet the same as n270 and n455 atom notebooks ?
as for the 12hrs nonstop battery life as in naka play ng video nonstop or standby only ?
and is the pssd replaceable with ordinary 2.5inch sata hdd ? i’m thinking of using this primarily as a comics viewer can this unit run comic rack ?
hope to get some answers :) been eyeing this unit but still very few reviews on z670 and the youtube videos i see on youtube most uses 2gb ddr3 ram :)

hello sir, We can’t replace the memory and hard drive because it’s sealed like ipad :)

here’s a user review from our Facebook page:

Santiago Perez – I’ve had this for around 3 weeks now and so far, I’m very impressed. It is one of the few tablets out there with Win7 capability and USB ports. It can power an external DVD Drive and 1TB USB HDD. The leather case was icing on top of the cake as its stylish, and more importantly, useful. Anything you can do with a netbook, you can do with the QTouch. As for the PDF support, I have used Acrobat and Foxit without problems. Battery time can reach the advertized 12 hours, although when doing videos, I was able to squeeze around 9-10 hours.

Overall, I’m very pleased with this purchase. Just what I need.

Okay, so I finally bought this wonderful gadget last Aug.24 at Qube Alabang.
I’ve got some reviews with photos on my facebook album.
My overall rating for this would be:
9/10 (tablet itself ONLY)

What annoys me is when you press the [X] button if you want to close individual tabs of your browser (firefox or chrome).
The leather cover is great. Unfortunately, you cannot detach the keyboard from the leather cover. It would impress me if you can separate the keyboard from the cover. Like if you don’t want to use the keyboard but you want to carry the tablet covered with a decent and sophisticated leather cover – (you will love to see yourself like a Company Executive).
Talking about the keyboard functionality, what annoys me more is that you have to press FUNCTION KEY all the time you press M,J,K,L,:,U,I,O,P in order to type properly… Otherwise, you’ll get 0,1,2,3,+,4,5,6,-.
Example, if you want to type “MAHAL KITA”, and you don’t press the FUNCTION KEY, you’ll get:
“0AHA3 25TA”
Leather Cover w/ Keyboard Rating: 4/10

I installed the following apps on my wonderful tablet:
1) Adobe Acrobat 9 (cracked and working great)
2) MS Office 2007 (cracked and working great)
3) WinRAR
4) GOM Player
5) CCleaner
6) Tune Up Utilities 2011
7) USB Disk Security

This tablet, based on Qube’s description has a 32GB PSSD Hard Disk but mine has a maximum capacity of only 29.8 Giga Byte.
Sadly, after installing all the programs that I think I might need, only 16GB left.
I haven’t installed anti-virus yet on this tablet but try to think how many Giga Bytes will left if I decided to install one.
My solution:
Since this tablet has a MICRO SD CARD slot that supports up to another 32GB of memory-(I guess), I decided to buy 16GB Micro SD Card. On that card, I was able to store my ebooks collection and other documents.

Thank you for reading my simple review.

I want this one to read ebooks (yes, that’s my primary reason why I want one) hehehe.

Hi Prof Eduards, thank you for the compliment :) Using PSSD will save battery life although the size is quite limited, and there’s no way to upgrade internally, but you can always add more data space thru the MicroSD slot and USB. The advantage of Qtouch over other Windows based tablet is its over 12-HR battery life (2X more battery inside compared to IPAD2), sensitive capacitive screen, and 0 noise because there’s no cpu fan and hard drive(no moving parts), thank you.

there are only few windows-based tablets and Qube is one of very few who sees windows potential for windows-centric users like me. the low-down is the pssd. is it upgradeable to 2.5″ hdd? now i am torn between qtouch and lenovo s10-3t! kudos to qube! now, you really rock!

Hi Prof, try the Acer 1825 PTZ if you can still find it. It has a 300gb hard drive and Win 7 pre installed. It is a bit bigger than the Lenovo but has a faster CPU.

I think the Atom CPU is best paired with SSD drive to have acceptable performance on Windows touch screens as this Qtouch does. If I only knew this was coming out, I would have considered it against the Acer.

Hello Abe,

Do you do actual unit reviews? if yes, we can lend you a unit for review, this unit is Win 8 compatible, 2x more batteries than ipad2 (12hours Win7), capacitive soft and sensitive screen, if your work requires win7 or if you prefer win7 over other OS, I think this is the best win7 tablet in the market today, mostly because of the long 12 hours battery,we’re also using the latest Fanless Atom z670 designed specifically for tablet, thanks!
