Samsung has announced a new ultrabook and an ultraportable gaming laptop in its line-up, the Series 7 Ultra and the refreshed Series 7 Chronos.

The Series 7 Ultra is a touchscreen ultrabook powered by an Intel Core i5 or i7 processor and a discrete GPU (1GB AMD HD8570M). Optional storage is 128GB or 256GB SSD, up to 16GB of RAM, a full HD 1080p display in a 13.3-inch screen.

The Series 7 Chronos is more of a gaming laptop. It’s powered by an Intel Core i7 3635QM CPU and AMD Radeon HD 8870M GPU with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of HDD. It’s got a full HD 1080p display in a 15.6-inch screen.

I’m pretty sure it’s going to have the same material. They’re trying to keep the prices at a minimum.

Samsung outdid themselves this time. The last ultraportable I used was also a Chronos (company-issued), but it reeked of plastic hinges.
