Last year, the prize pool reached…

“You won’t gain anything from playing computer games”. At least that statement was true two or three decades ago, but these people on our list proved that money (not to mention fame) will follow if you just do what you love to do. Editor's Note: The total earnings of each of the pro gamers listed here does not include sponsorships and deals. 10. Xie Junhao aka Super ($458,940.79) – A member of Vici…

Relevance: 60%      Posted on: August 21, 2011

Representing the Philippines in "The International" DoTA 2 Tournament is team Mineski.Infinity which started last August 17 and ends today. We were rooting for them all week and was glued on the DoTA2 livestream and YouTube replays for the group matches. Unfortunately, our DoTA 2 flag carrier weren't strong enough to advance even to the semis and bring home any prize (champion gets $1 million while 8th place gets $25,000). Mineski.Infinity didn't had a good start with 0 wins a 3 loses at the initial Group Stage. They proceeded to the Bracket Stage (under Losers Bracket) with a surprise win…

After spending two years in Beta, Valve has finally made second iteration of the Defense Of The Ancient (DOTA) available for download through its delivery platform Steam. In anticipation of the influx of gamers who wish to play/download the game, the developer decided to continue with the queuing system that they’ve implemented even when the game was still in beta. Heroes of The Storm early look: Blizzard’s DoTA & LoL

Relevance: 54%      Posted on: July 29, 2014

MOBA games initially gained traction as a mod to Blizzard games like StarCraft & Warcraft, ending up being called DoTA. Valve picked it up with DoTA 2, and surely, it has inspired companies such as Riot Games to come up with League of Legends. Note: As of writing, I am testing version 0.5.0.31360. Gameplay elements may change with my opinions upon final release. I'm pretty much into StarCraft II, Hearthstone and a little…
