The Cheapest Canon dSLR Camera

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: March 20, 2008

Got this new Canon dSLR from a good friend a week ago. This was their gift to me for doing their prenup shots I featured on my photoblog a month ago. I don't know which model it is though. See pictures after the jump. It's cute and probably the cheapest dSLR you'd ever get so it's a great idea as a gift. Just click on the thumbnails to see the larger images. Oh, I forgot to say it's made out of clay, weighs an ounce and no bigger than a two-peso coin in diameter. I believe these clay models are…

Canon to unveil 3 DSLR cameras this year

Relevance: 76%      Posted on: January 28, 2013

CanonRumors reports that they just got a tip from a “very reliable source” that the Japanese imaging giant is brewing up three DSLR cameras this year. Two of these cameras are said to be under the entry-level category; 70D and a Rebel (700D). Although we agree with their first guess, we’d like to think that the other camera would be a refresher of the 2-year old 1100D. The rationale for our hypothesis is that Canon would want their entry-level offering to be in the same playing field as the Nikon D3200. Here’s a chart to show you the difference between…

Record Videos with Canon 40D dSLR

Relevance: 73%      Posted on: January 27, 2009

Canon dSLR owners who wished they had the same HD video recording features like the Canon 5D Mark II might find this little nifty tool with their cameras. I was able to record video using my Canon EOS 40D. The app is pretty simple -- extract the software, connect the USB cable to your dSLR (40D, 1000D, 450D), click on Record, zoom/focus the camera lens manually, click on stop when done. The raw video output runs at 1024x640 resolution with a bitrate of 55KB/s. Here's a sample I took and uploaded on YouTube. The original recorded video was of very…

Canon EOS Rebel T1i takes Full HD Videos

Relevance: 70%      Posted on: March 25, 2009

Now this is going to disappoint those who bought the Canon 50D earlier and paid premium for it -- Canon's new entry level dSLR, the EOS Rebel T1i (commonly known as the Canon EOS 500D), now offers full HD video capture at 30fps. Video capture using dSLR seems to be the in thing now -- the Canon Rebel T1i features 16:9 720p HD video capture at 30 fps as well as a Full HD 1080p video capture at 20 fps, and a third option to record 4:3 standard TV quality (SD) video capture at 640 x 480 pixels and 30…
