Relevance: 68%      Posted on: July 4, 2012

We might have another quad-core contender in our hands, this time from a Lenovo K860. And we may expect a more competitive price tag compared to HTC One X and SGSIII. A Chinese tech blog site has reported that Lenovo K860 has passed the China Industry and Information Technology's standards for smartphones last June 21 and is set to hit the stores by August this year. The handset will have a Samsung Exynos 4412 1.4GHz chip under the hood backed by 1GB of RAM. One of the possible deal-breaker on this phone is that it will only have a measly…

T-Mobile G1 Android Phone in the Flesh

Relevance: 65%      Posted on: November 18, 2008

Managed to "borrow" one of the recently released T-Mobile G1 (a.k.a. Google Android Phone) and cooking up a full review. For the meantime, let me share some photos. The Google Phone is one of the oddest phone I've ever seen in terms of design and form factor. Even the mechanism for flipping out the keyboard is a bit unconventional. Took several shots of the phone together with the Nokia E71, iPhone 3G and Xperia X1 for some visual comparison. The G1 is indeed huge and bulky. Will be done with my review before the week ends so watch out for…

Let’s start off with the IdeaTab A3000 which, by the way, retails for Php9,999. It’s got…

Computex: Lenovo K800, the Atom-powered Android

Relevance: 63%      Posted on: June 7, 2012

The Lenovo K800 got a lot of news coverage last January during the 2012 CES because it featured an Intel Atom-powered Android smartphone. It heralded the entry of Intel into the lucrative and fast-growing smartphone market that's dominated by Qualcomm. The Lenovo K800 is the second Atom-based smartphone, following the Xolo 900 which was launched in India back in April 2012. Since the Atom chip used here is not an SoC (System on Chip), other functions like cellular features have to be separately sourced elsewhere resulting to the device being a bit thicker than usual. Lenovo K800 specs: 4.5" LCD…
