Why no Michelle Malkin on the list?

Relevance: 100%      Posted on: July 17, 2007

There are so many top list in the cropping up Philippine blogosphere nowadays and it's a good thing because it allows us to discover the yet un-discovered. It also gives us a different perspective, depending on who's creating the list and what that list represents. However, if you regularly visited all these lists, you will see almost the same trend -- the same names keep making it on the top, except for several bloggers who wanted to keep their identity a secret (nobody even knows what's Bryanboy's real name or if he's really just 17). There's also one other very…

While we're starting to see more and more manufacturers going into the tablet craze, other small-time companies are on its way to offer glasses-less 3D tablets like the Gadmei P83 PMP player. PMP (personal media players) can be considered as bumed-tablets (or feature-tablets) since all they can do is play music and all sorts video. This one can do 3D too. They're much cheaper too -- the Gadmei P83 3D sells for only $169 (saw it over at HK-based Marvel Digital). Gadmei P83 3D PMP 8" LCD display @ 1280 x 768 pixels 4GB internal storage up to 32GB via…

Spamming is still a lucrative business

Relevance: 40%      Posted on: September 22, 2010

From what I hear, looks like spammers are still making a killing. In a recent episode on Magic 89.9 where people call in and reveal some work/trade secrets, a girl shared that she works for a company with a local office running a spamming operation. This was only shared to me by a friend so the details are blurry. What really got my interest was how much their spamming operation makes. So get this -- $150,000 a week on slow months and up to $500,000 a week if they get really lucky. Now that's a lot! Not sure what part…

Desperate Housewives jokes about Med Schools in the Philippines

Relevance: 33%      Posted on: October 3, 2007

Note: List of TV series and movies referring to Filipinos. A recent episode of popular TV series Desperate Housewives (season 4) made a joke about medical schools in the Philippines that has been the cause for outrage by a lot of Filipinos. See the short YouTube clip here: The line goes "Okay. Before going further, can I check these diplomas cause I would just like to make sure that they’re not from some med school in the Philippines?”". Frankly, I found it funny, knowing a lot of people especially students go to Recto to fix their academic problems. Still, a…

New Case-Mate cases for Wildfire S and HTC Sensation

Relevance: 25%      Posted on: August 14, 2011

I have a friend who would not open any of his newly-bought gadgets unless he has the screen protector and wrapped it with a case. One time, it took him over a month before he was able to use his new iPod Touch because there wasn't any locally available case for it yet. Apparently, the gadget case industry is a huge industry. Imagine the hundreds of millions of phones being sold every year? And that's just phones -- there are other devices like tablets, portable gaming devices and the likes. I reckon the industry generates at least $2 billion in…

Your nude selfies can remain after Android factory reset

Relevance: 22%      Posted on: July 13, 2014

Avast has revealed that nudes and other intimate photos have been found on Android phones that users think they've already made clean, but it seems that the factory wipe function just stops your phone from showing where the data is stored - therefore, data is still retrievable by tools. According to the source, it is suggested that the devices vulnerable to the security flaw are the phones running software older than Android 4.0. If you're quite paranoid about the situation, than you should encrypt your data before doing the factory reset, so that just in case someone retrieves your data, it…
