Sharp introduces the Free-Form Display

Relevance: 99%      Posted on: June 19, 2014

Sharp has developed a new display technology called the Free-Form Display that will soon allow commercial technology to feature displays of different shapes depending on the application. Current display technology require its shape to be rectangular "because they require a minimal width for the bezel in order to accommodate the drive circuit, called the gate driver, around the perimeter of the screen's display area." In the case of the Free-Form Display, "the gate driver's function is dispersed throughout the pixels on the display area. This allows the bezel to be shrunk considerably, and it gives the freedom to design the…

Relevance: 65%      Posted on: April 7, 2007

Due to some political heat and libel suits being hurled on Malaysian blogosphere, bloggers have organized a group called the National Alliance of Bloggers. The National Alliance of Bloggers' main goal is to "protect bloggers," and to try to get the government to see their point of view and why they have made certain postings, the new group's president, Ahirudin Attan, wrote on his popular blog "Rocky's Bru." About 50 of Malaysia's popular online personalities held a meeting and decided to start the organization because a few bloggers were being "demonized again and again" by the government, Ahirudin said. {source:…

Globe now accepts iPhone 4 Pre-Orders

Relevance: 28%      Posted on: August 16, 2010

The wait is, almost, over. Globe Telecom has opened iPhone 4 pre-orders in the Philippines this early. Now you can reserve your own iPhone 4, both the black and white models. Note: Correction. Turns out this is not a pre-order form but a form for those "interested in the iPhone 4". Seems a bit too detailed for a newsletter (email would have sufficed right?) you'd easily mistake it for a reg form. The actual pre-order form has yet to be announced or put up. Will update once actual pre-orders are announced. The Globe microsite did not say when the iPhone…

MSN Search can solve Algebra.

Relevance: 27%      Posted on: June 5, 2005

Just found out about this. MSN Search, thru MSN Encarta, can actually solve algebraic equations. So I tried a few formulas like: 0 = x^ 2 + 2 x + 1 ... and true enough, it gave me '1" as the correct answer. Again, I tried a harder equation such as: x^3 - x + pi^2 - x^2 = 1 I got -1.92182 on that one. Had this been available way back in my high school days, I could have gotten a perfect 1.0 grade instead of 1.25. :D

AzoogleAds’ Cost Per Action

Relevance: 27%      Posted on: April 3, 2006

Matt of the new BlogHerald talks about looking beyond Adsense and refer to AzoogleAds as a potential alternative for monetizing your blog. He refers to The Forum Fix which allegedly earned somewhere in the vicinity of $45,000 a month from it. I have heard of this before but did not really get into it because of lack of feedback from other blogs about it. Anyway, I tested and tried to sign up for the program but ran into some bottleneck like requiring a TIN, among others. And I am not sure if they allow international affiliates. Then, there's the CPA…
