Smart Bro Rocket Plug-It now official, available Monday

We were the first to break the news last week about the new Smart Bro Rocket 12Mbps so we followed it up with Smart today.

It’s now official and you can get the prepaid SmartBro Rocket for Php3,995 (no lock-in period but is locked to the Smart network).

You should also see this poster in stores where it’s available.

Internet rates starts at Php10 per 30 minutes and you can just use the normal loading system. The Smart Bro Rocket will be available for sale at Smart Business Centers starting Monday. Remember though, there are only about 154 HSPA+ sites across the country (Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, etc) so don’t expect it to reach 12Mbps anywhere else.

Note: You can check the complete list of Smart HSPA+ sites here.

  1. Pampanga says:

The residents of Pampanga are earnestly asking Smart Telecom to consider expediting the roll-outs to our province, particularly in Angeles City.

We’re really anticipative of any updates on this matter.

    Thanks!

  5. Paulo says:

  6. bb says:

is it possible to switch my smart bro plug-it with this one?

  7. BBM says:

  8. Les says:

Can you use this product when youre out of the coverage area? I mean gagana ba ang 3G or GPRS?EDGE signal?

  9. mike says:

big and important question is. Is there at least a 7 day trial period to check and if we are not satisfied return the product no questions asked? Smart and PLDT is very hard to trust nowadays with reputation of giving poor service in the past. This company is there to satisfy their shareholders at the expense of poor paying consumers hard earned money.

  10. I got one from Smart Wireless Center in Megamall. The staff at the entrance have no idea what it is, when it is going to be available. I had to go and get a number to ask a Sales personnel about it. I asked for their fair use policy and got this info: a) the P10 per 30 mins is available for a limited period. Starting Oct 1, rocket users will have volume packages as default charging. b) No unlimited internet packages (no unlisurfs) c) Volume packages suck (max at 2GB for 30 days @ Php995), default of 180MB for Php200

what the hell! They gave and.advertised fast 12Mbps speed then cap.it at MB and max 2Gb a month?! Do the math. It just means your thousand pesos is gone in a few hours! THIS IS ONE BIG MONEYMAKING VENTURE!

  11. Speed is quite decent though. I live in Pasig where there is HSPA coverage and I get 5 mbps from speedtest.net. 12mbps is still a dream.

  12. Doc Nato says:

I also got the smart rocket from megamall… I also asked the one who gives the number.. he said “hung friday pa nag po naming iniintay di pa run dumadating” then i asked the one from the cashier… meron na daw! I was so excited when i plugged it in my mac (osx lion) to my surprise… it was asking for an update then tells me I’m not connected to the internet even though i am… tried downloading drivers for huawei, di gumagana…. took me 5 hours to figure it out.. until i downloaded the java runtime for osx lion… ayun! gumana run sa wakas!!! its already 12midnight ngayon pa lang magtetest… got only 1.8kbps from speediest.net even though there’s an HSPA signal here in eastwood… I’ll try in St luke’s Q.C. tom!

  13. Leslie says:

Sayang wala man lang HSPA+ site sa Bulacan. Smart gising gising din!

  14. Info says:

Good thing its openline as yugatech have said and tested, just switch your smartbro sim to sun broadbandsim and subscribe the 100 unlisurf for 3 days compare with smart 200 unlisurf for 5 days and globe unlisurf 220 for 5 days. i havent tested it yet with other sims, might as well test it replace the smart with sun.

  15. Picolohk says:

And I bet peer to peer will be throttled down to 120kbps

  16. Jon says:

sobrang slow at mahal ng internet dito sa Pinas…sa Korea I have 100mbps tapos I’m only paying around P600 per month…unlimited pa yun meaning I can download GBs of movies and etc…na-miss ko tuloy ang Korea

  17. Aris Sison says:

Does SmartBro Rocket work on Mac Lion?

  18. mizzeg says:

it sucks i got one super bagal naman.. kahit na may site sa lugar namin ng HSPA super bagal padin.. i hope soon maayos ng SMART to para di naman medyo nakakahiya sa mga subcribers.

  19. adrian says:

I recently bought SmartBro Rocket Plug-it and I’m happy to say that VPN would work with your rocket plugit! HOWEVER, when you follow your VPN provider’s information on connecting to the network you will get the speed of normal smart plug it. see… because the original profile of smartbro for rocket plug it has an APN of “smartbro” versus the APN suggested of VPN providers which is “internet”. The access point is different and probably the reason why surfing on APN-internet is slower compared to the default Rocket-APN

  20. Mark says:

Sir Yuga ayos ba speed nito sa baclaran, parañaque city??

  21. jhune says:

how much is this? I want to buy can you give me the cheapest but sulit in terms of speed? thanks

  22. What says:

Tanga lang ang bibili nito. 12MBPS tapos Walang unlisurf ? Mabilis nga net mo, mabilis rin load mo.. SMART, Wag niyong gawin tanga mga tao

  23. Allan Caluste says:

I’ve been using this everyday since August, and i’m getting consistent speeds between 2mbps to a high of 6mbps on a good day. Unlisurf still works for me (50 pesos whole day, 200 pesos 5 days). On the status, it connects as HSPA, but there were a few times when I saw it connect as HSPA+. DL speeds are fast, skype is really good. Sites known for heavy bandwidth consumption are throttled down unfortunately (eg youtube, torrent). Hope the unlisurf sticks para sulit.
