Apple confirms iPad2 in the Philippines on April 29

Listen to article

So it seems Apple really wanted to make the announcement themselves. The official press release of the launch of the iPad 2 in the Philippines after the jump.

CUPERTINO, California—April 27, 2011—Apple® today announced that iPad® 2, the second-generation of its breakthrough post-PC device, will arrive in Japan on Thursday, April 28 and Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore and eight additional countries on Friday, April 29. iPad 2 will be available at Apple retail stores at 9 a.m. local time, select Apple Authorized Resellers, and online through the Apple Store® (www.apple.com) beginning at 1 a.m. Additionally, iPad 2 with Wi-Fi will be available in China beginning Friday, May 6.

iPad 2 features an entirely new design that is 33 percent thinner and up to 15 percent lighter than the original iPad, while maintaining the same stunning 9.7-inch LED-backlit LCD screen. iPad 2 features Apple’s new dual-core A5 processor for blazing fast performance and stunning graphics and now includes two cameras, a front-facing VGA camera for FaceTime® and Photo Booth®, and a rear-facing camera that captures 720p HD video, bringing the innovative FaceTime feature to iPad users for the first time. Though it is thinner, lighter, faster and packed with new features, iPad 2 still delivers up to 10 hours of battery life* that users have come to expect.

Pricing & Availability

iPad 2 with Wi-Fi will be available in Japan on April 28 and Hong Kong, India, Israel, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey and UAE on April 29 for a suggested retail price of $499 (US) for the 16GB model, $599 (US) for the 32GB model and $699 (US) for the 64GB model. iPad 2 with Wi-Fi + 3G will be available for a suggested retail price of $629 (US) for the 16GB model, $729 (US) for the 32GB model and $829 (US) for the 64GB model. iPad 2 with Wi-Fi will be available in China on May 6, and further international availability will be announced at a later date.

Currently only offers apparel to women but that shouldn’t stop
men from purchasing lovely gifts for their special ladies.
If you’re one of those families, please make sure that
if you feel the need to wear a sweater, you little dog,
old dog recovering dog or puppy will probably need one too.
Scarves and Sashes: Tight tied scarves around neck, kerchiefs and
loosen neck cloths were commonly in use.

malabo pa mangyari yan wish mo kasi may deal ang globe at apple sa iphone for several years pa.
mahal yun deal kaya kahit mismo smart di kaya nataon lang na sister co ng globe yun singtel sa singapore kaya damay sila hehe.

asa range ng 50-100M dollars ang deal ng singtel/globe at apple sa iphones.

Same lang ba yung price niyan pag labas nya from authorized resellers like powermac compared to singapore or may patong talaga?

hays, sana magkaroon ng official apple store dito sa pinas, at mag benta ng unlocked iphones katulad ng sa singapore. wala ng exclusivity katulad ngayon na sa globe lang meron. i really want an iphone pero because its so uber expensive here in the philippines you have no choice but to buy from abroad (and not all people have relatives abroad), im not even comfortable buying from online sellers with that amount. I know iphone only cost around 30k unlocked but here in our place it is priced at 50k! imagine that! ewan ko nalang if mangyayari yan na official apple store talaga.

istudio has 6 months 0% interest rate for select card like HSBC and BDO.. 3 months sa PowerMac, no price has been released by there shop..

as for 12 months try mo yung appliance stores like western.

As most expect it, limited lang ang stocks. better camp out if you want to get one tom..

@daniel and jon, I think Its not because about the consumers but more of the stock availability.. maybe it was partition or reserve stock for other countries.. then they will only provide about 20 to 50 items hahahaha. then will have to wait 1 month more to get new stock.. lagi naman ganon, the downside or upside, maraming underground seller in manila where you can buy them as well, some with 1 year service contract
