Apple intros 15-inch MacBook Pro with Force Touch

Apple has introduced today an updated 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display now equipped Force Touch trackpad, and a new configuration of the 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display.

For the unacquainted, Force Touch is a feature that senses the level of force exerted on the trackpad. The Force Touch trackpad comes with built-in force sensors and a Taptic Engine that delivers haptic feedback.

The updated 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display and Force Touch trackpad comes in two starting configurations:

  • 2.2GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.4GHz), 16GB RAM, 256GB PCIe-based flash storage, and Intel Iris Pro Graphics for $1,999. Local price is Php99,990.
  • 2.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor (Turbo Boost up to 3.7GHz), 16GB RAM, 512GB PCIe-based flash storage, Intel Iris Pro Graphics, and AMD Radeon R9 M370X with 2GB of GDDR5 for $2,499. Local price is Php124,990.

As for the new 27-inch iMac with Retina 5K display, it now starts at $1,999 (Php103,990) and comes with a 3.3GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost Speeds up to 3.7 GHz, AMD Radeon R9 M290 2GB GPU and 1TB of storage.

Their top-of-the-line iMac which features a 3.5GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 processor with Turbo Boost speeds up to 3.9 GHz, AMD Radeon R9 M290X 2GB GPU and a 1TB Fusion Drive now starts at $2,299 (Php118,990).
