Apple M5 chip announced

Apple today officially unveiled the M5 chip which will power the refreshed 14-inch Macbook Pro, Apple Vision Pro and the iPad Pro.

Built using 3rd generation 3nm technology, the Apple M5 comes with a new 10-core GPU architecture with a Neural Accelerator in each core which now has over 4x the peak GPU compute performance compared to M4.

The M5 has up to 10-core CPU made up of 6 efficiency cores and up to 4 performance cores, giving it a 15% boost in multithreaded performance over the M4.

Devices runing on the new Apple M5 will be released by October 22.
