Listen to article

Microsoft’s Notepad has just received new updates for text formatting.

Microsoft has just dropped a new update for Notepad specifically for Windows 11 users. The application can now support Markdown-style input. In addition, users can now utilize headers, lists, hyperlinks, bold, and italic text formatting.

For those who wish to switch between formatted Markdown and Markdown syntax views, this can be toggled in the view menu. This can also be toggled in the status bar located at the bottom of the window.

If users prefer the usual plain text that Notepad provides, all formatting can be cleared in the formatting toolbar or the edit menu.
