El Foro HDMI, la organización detrás del estándar HDMI, pronto anunciará un nuevo estándar de HDMI, probablemente el HDMI 2.2.

Según un comunicado de prensa, la nueva especificación permitirá una "amplia gama de resoluciones y tasas de refresco más altas". También habrá soporte para 'nuevos cables', lo que sugiere fuertemente que no se realizaron cambios en el puerto HDMI.

El actual HDMI 2.1, lanzado en 2017, puede tener hasta 120Hz tasas de refresco variables, resolución de hasta 10K (10240 x 4320) y un ancho de banda de 48 Gbps.

También se especula que las nuevas especificaciones no requerirán Compresión de Flujo de Pantalla y seguirán siendo capaces de ofrecer resoluciones y tasas de refresco más altas.

El Foro HDMI está programado para revelar oficialmente la nueva especificación HDMI el 6 de enero en el CES de Las Vegas.
