Firefox 6 out ahead of schedule

Listen to article

Wasn’t it like a couple of months ago that Firefox 5 was released? Now, Firefox 6 is already here and ready to download. That’s pretty damn fast.

Though the ones I’ve downloaded and installed still says it’s on beta, I’m pretty sure the final version will be out very soon {although Technobolt says it’s actually the final version already}.

At this rate, we might be expecting Firefox 8 before end of the year.

You can download it for Windows here and for Mac here.

I just updated my firefox…hmmm it seems fast…and I think you are right sir yuga…maybe this is not a beta anymore, I just check the “About” button, and didn’t see any Beta in the version…or probably the intentionally never place any beta on it. Hehehehe :-)

AS much as YAY as t sounds I still dont like FF to follow Chromes naming scheme of useless number updating every update…

They should have stuck with their original scheme.

FF(Palemoon) User here.

I would still use Chrome for almost everything, IE 9 for office work. Firefox 5 is a good alternative if Chrome 12 crashes and if the connection is too slow, I’ll use Opera 11.

Tthere’s chrome version 13 released as stable. Been using chrome for sometime and no complaints so far. Firefox is okay but I’m used to chrome already. Firefox and opera seem to have a similar interface

Hi Abe,
Your iPhone app quits after I read 1 article in my phone. Tried this for both iP4 and 3GS.

THIS IS OFF TOPIC, BUT AN IMPORTANT SUGGESTION:

This blog should use DISQUS.com or Facebook Comments as Comment Systems. When we stick to the old Web 1.0 Comment System, everyone would not be encouraged to comment on your great news articles.

If you move to a Web 2.0 commenting system like DISQUS or Facebook Comments, all we have to do is type our comments and post. No need to re-type and re-type “Name”, “Email”, “Website”.

As a fan of YugaTech on Facebook, I know that more people post comments there. If you use Facebook Comments, you’ll also get comments analytics for free.

@thenonhacker – we were contemplating on that during our recent design reboot (FB comments) but wasn’t implemented due to some technical issues before. rest assured we’ll be rolling out FB comments soon.
