eGov Super App proposed to streamline aid distribution

Listen to article

Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano is pushing to make government aid faster and more transparent through a unified digital platform like the eGov Super App.

Cayetano wants the Department of Information and Communications Technology to develop an online and mobile system which will enable beneficiaries to request medical burial and financial assistance according to the proposed amendments to Senate Bill 155. The measure aligns with the E-Governance Law.

Cayetano said that digitizing the process would help government organizations achieve their goals while preventing politicians from interfering with operations. He suggested a simple system where applicants can upload a photo of a prescription through the app to obtain a medical voucher which they can use at any drugstore through GCash.

He also proposed clearer hospital documentation and alternative authorization methods for those unable to sign due to age, illness, disability, or illiteracy.
